Quite funny, AVB goes to See the Brazil camp / first picture anyone gets onto web is of him Hulk / Everyone has ITK that Hulk is coming. Bet he spoke with most of the squad, who knows who he is after.

Is there even any proof that picture is current, as opposed to being from... I dont know.... When AVB managed Hulk a couple of years ago!?

Guy in the background is Oliver Holt:

I think he went first and foremost to introduce himself to Sandro and to chat all things Tottenham, nothing else

of course whilst there, why not have a quick chat with Hulk, Oscar and Neymar:)...rude not to hey

It may have already been mentioned, so apologies, but Joe Allen anyone?

£15m: The price to prise Joe Allen from Swansea City? .Wednesday, July 18, 2012 South Wales Evening Post
Follow.SWANSEA City are bracing themselves for a firm offer from Liverpool for Joe Allen — but will demand at least £15 million before selling their midfield star.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins insisted last night that Liverpool have not contacted him over a move for Allen.

Joe Allen
.But the Reds' former Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers is a huge admirer of the Welsh international and it now seems inevitable that he will bid to take him to Anfield.

And if Swansea receive a megamoney offer from Merseyside, they will be forced to consider letting Allen go.

Swansea are well aware that Liverpool splashed out £16 million on another young, British midfielder in Jordan Henderson last summer.

And they are likely to base their asking price around what Liverpool paid Sunderland for Henderson should the Allen situation get that far.

Allen is happy at Swansea, the club he joined when he was just 12 years old, but he is likely to have his head turned if a club of Liverpool's stature table the sort of offer which would obliterate all previous records at the Liberty Stadium.

And while Swansea are under no pressure financially to sell, new boss Michael Laudrup conceded last week that Allen's wishes will have to be considered if a rival club makes a suitable bid for his services.

Rodgers left Swansea for Liverpool earlier this summer, when a clause in the compensation package between the clubs reportedly stated that he could not lead the bidding for any member of the squad he left behind inside the next 12 months.

But it now seems the clause does not guarantee that no player will follow Rodgers to the North West.

Transfer

Instead, the Evening Post understands, it will merely give Swansea the upper hand if and when they sit down at the negotiating table to discuss any possible transfer.

Swansea wanted to give themselves some protection when Rodgers departed, for there was a strong possibility that he would want to take one or two of his key players with him.

And for the moment at least, Jenkins is attempting to maintain that any deal for Allen is unlikely to happen.

"As always, as a club we want all our best young players to remain with us for the future," said the Swansea chief.

"That's the fact of the matter, and we don't want any speculation about our players leaving.

"We have had no contact from Liverpool and we want to retain all of our best young players. That's all there is to say."

Losing Allen would be a hammer blow for Swansea, for the Pembrokeshire product has emerged as one of their star performers over the past couple of seasons.

A technically gifted, composed and tactically aware midfield player, he was a central figure in the Championship promotion-winning campaign and then excelled in the Premier League last season.

Rodgers, who suggested Allen was good enough to play for one of the big four last autumn, reckoned the 22-year-old was Swansea's star performer in the top flight last term.

Should Allen end up at Liverpool, Laudrup will be left with a hole to fill in the Swansea midfield.

But Swansea would have a huge sum of cash to work with if a deal does happen.

Allen is currently away with the British Olympic squad, while Rodgers's Liverpool are on pre-season tour in America.

Swansea hope Allen will return to prepare for the new Premier League campaign with them next month, but it seems their old manager has other ideas.

Says who? Some random on the internet - must be true then!!

And, even if it were genuine, it doesnt automatically mean there is transfer talk going on. Could be as simple as old friends catching up...

but who says a transfer is going on

the pic was taken, then distributed via teletext, and its people with nothing better to do who are trying to insinuate that this means we are after Hulk

Perhaps meeting up with Sandro? Having a word in Oscar's ear? Greeting an old friend in Hulk? Getting I's dotted and T's crossed on Damiao's contract?

I am going to tell you what I know, it could be any of those. Don't shoot the messenger.

Joesip Allenic, yessssss get him in....not Modric, but very effective in his own way and at 22 has the scope to improve

I've said this a million times but i'll say it again. Chelsea won championships without a Luka type creator in the middle. Makelele (DM), Tiago/Essien (box to box) , and Lampard (attacking goalscorer) was a combination most teams simply couldn't handle because it's far more direct and relies more on power and energy then anything else (which sadly is a better fit in this league).

We have a dm and we have a goalscoring mid so maybe a box to box cm type midfielder would push us up a level. Personally i think the creative Modric type cm's are vastly overrated in this league.
