Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to be fuming that Zeki Fryers has defected to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Daily Mail claims Ferguson is seething over the loss of Fryers, who is the third of United’s 2011 FA Youth Cup-winning team to leave Old Trafford in the last six months.
Although he was happy to let the troubled Ravel Morrison join West Ham in January, Ferguson was known to be keen to keep hold of Fryers and Paul Pogba, who has departed for Juventus.
However, Fryers has not been seen at the club’s Carrington training ground since his contract expired and is signing for Tottenham on a four-year deal.
United will demand £6 million in training compensation for the England youth team defender although Spurs expect to pay significantly less.
