How old is Dempsey? also they will want some serious moolah for an older player. none of this fits in with Levy thinking!

Clinton fudging Dempsey? I don't care how many goals he scored last season the guy is average personified. Has no stand out attributes besides being great at finding space ( but so is Kevin Nolan and Tom Cahill but nobody wants them here).

I'd be more happy if Dempsey came than if no one came, he scores more goals than Lennon, Dembele, Sig or any of the other midfielders, an area where I do feel we're very lightweight since VdV left. For a decent fee + salary and a two or three year deal I'd be ok with it, but there's plenty of other players I'd prefer.

I TAKE UMBRAGE WITH THAT, SIR!!! Deuce is a legend. He scores goals, none of our other midfielders score!! I don't want him here though, he won't play consistently. The US needs him to play!!!

VDV doesn't have a position in AVBs formation which is kind of the point, in fact he barely had one in our team last season hence why many questioned whether VDV was actually a hinderance to our side. That would have been part of the reason why he's been sold, so noone is coming in as a VDV replacement, it will just be players coming in who fit the system....
