Every now and then I log on to Spurs twitter feed, read the first tweet being "we can announce", get very excited, then realise it's about Danny bloody Rose again.

Yes, he's on loan, we get it, now give me some Hugo farken.

Quick update on things as they stand at the moment...

I think we have no chance on Llorente to be perfectly honest. I smell a deal for Berbatov which would work when you consider him, Adebayor and Defoe. Moutinho replaces Modric, Dembele replaces VDV and that leaves us pretty much where we started.

I would be in dream land if we unvieled Llorente/Wiliam but I just do not see it happening....

Moutinho and Lloris in for less than what we got for Modric.

All our dealings (including Moutinho, Lloris and Rafa) for a net spend of about £7m so far.

That's surely enough cash for a decent forward still.

European football expert Andy Brassell: "Porto currently keeping schtum on reports of an impending deal for Joao Moutinho - in fact, they've named a 19-man squad for tomorrow's game at Olhanense a short while ago and the midfielder is in it, along with Hulk. Portugal defender Rolando, who the club are keen to sell, is not involved. Given Zenit St Petersburg's reported interest in Hulk (and, latterly, Moutinho), it's worth remembering that the transfer deadline in the Russian Premier League doesn't close until midnight on Thursday."
