I'm sure i read Benny did an interview before the end of the season where Benny said he would consider moving on if we didn't get the Champions League. Don't know the credibility of the source but may be why we've been linked with Baines

There has certainly been a lot of talk on this the past couple of weeks. Could just be the Twitter style trending gossip that amounts to absolutely nothing. However Dragon1 said Harry and Levys relationship has deteriorated and he is one of the few ITKs I listen to. Gut feeling says Harry leaving soon has got some mileage....

Unless Levy has a wish list from Harry's replacement and it includes Vertonghen.

Can't see it myself but if it happens it happens.

I know that its the received wisdom that all players love Harry but I really am not sure whether our players love Harry any more than any players like their manager

For the true Brit type players like Defoe, Jenas, Bentley, King, Daws etc then I can see it being true. But am not convinced that the foreign contingent like Luka, Sandro etc are the same nor Bale, who strikes you as relatively thoughtful for a footballer. Do we really think that these guys would want to leave if Harry goes? AM not sure....

Or he has a wish list from a DoF or just looking to strengthen the squad based on good young players that Harry has identified

Remy and leandro have both been talked about before.


Vertonghen is pretty well known..

Fair point. Its especially valid if the new guy is a Lambert/Rodgers/Martinez - those would kill to manager this type of player so would love it if they turned up at Spurs and they were here

I guess the gossip could be about anything though. It's probably more likely to be transfer related rather than the manger is getting the bullet.
 
The rumours trending on twitter is Arry out before end of Friday. It is said to be AVB as the man to replace him. Now...if this is true i would be gutted to lose Arry but wouldnt feel to bad about AVB. Modric also could be key here as levy knows he almost lost modders to AVB last summer and worried this issue mar re-occur...there is no better way to respond than to appoint AVB in order for modric to stay.

I would be stunned if Rogers smashed Swansea's transfer record then a few days later sign for us
 
AVB being manager of Chelsea had nothing to do with Modric wanting to go there. Much more to do with the money, consistent CL football etc he still would have gone to Chelsea if I was managing them.....

I don't think it's quite accurate to say that Spurs almost lost Modric to AVB. Almost lost Modric to CHELSEA, to CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL, and to 100,000+ QUID PER WEEK is more likely.
