It is a matter of opinion. For instance if I had a choice I would take Leandro ahead of Adebayor.
Even if one would cost four times more than the other?

Falcao, Llorente and Huiguain have proven themselves among the top strikers in europe. Do you think Leandro, and up and coming Brazilian is of the same proven quality?

2 weeks until the season starts. I can't wait.
upon re-reading, indeed i did, i apologise.. i agree with your notion that the likes of adebayor should be preferred over someone like leandro, who would be a big gamble, imo.

More like.
Im not talking about them being realistic targets, Im talking about how Leandro is put in the same bracket as these players by many posters on this board. Like he is already that good/established or even like they know him well enough to say.
I find it amusing - as was my original point.
On Leandro perhaps put it another way: he has the potential to be rightly regarded as one of the top strikers in Europe. It is going to be very difficult for us to compete for the very top players (sadly) so trying to identify players with significant potential is an important way of mitigating this problem. Of course it is hugely difficult and you have to take risks, but with the right environment and patience he could establish himself as a true top-line player. If we did buy him then bringing in Ade would be crucial, an established proven goalscorer who would help dissipate some of the pressure which Leandro would be under almost immediately.
Im sure Leandro could turn out to be the dogs dangies, but there is (IMO) a huge difference between "Potential" and "Reality".
The reality is Higuain and co ARE top strikers in Europe and Leandro could be (potential - not "is")
Seems to me some forget this in their excitement
For the same price?
