The money isn't going to last either. The last tv deal was down and BT are making noises about pulling out next time
Hopefully but we don't know what plans the likes of Amazon have

Davies is because he played for a Welsh team not the denmark thing - different FA association doesnt matter that they play in the english league. We don't need any set number of homegrowns
The problem is we have 2 too many oversees players to name in the EPL squad, and 3 too many to name in the CL squad (because bizarrely Davies counts as oversees there as he spent time as a schoolboy in Denmark)
But remember these too many include Janssen and Nkoudou for starters. Whereas players like Martial and De Ligt would replace Llorente and Alder like-for-like. Dembele will likely leave too if replaced etc.
They wouldn't for the c.£20m we were talking about in April/May. But for £50-70m its worth a try
Their spending so far this summer must also be creating problems for them with FFP
Sell moura? That's madness imo, and probably bollards Anyway
Also worth noting that the rules are a bit different for UEFA competitions. For CL/EL Maximum 25 players can be named in the A-list, and of those a minimum of 8 must be home grown, and minimum 4 of those must have been trained by the clubs own youth system. There is a limit of 17 non-home grown. Ben Davies is NOT considered home grown by UEFA rules. This is a short and good read regarding the home grown rule:

Son, Eriksen and Alli start. Moura and Lamela are the two AM subs. Zaha is 6th in that pecking order, taking Sissoko's minutes

I do hope so, Sky etc have ruined the game with all their money and the sooner the rich clubs get poorer the better.
Surely the TV money has levelled the playing field between the majority of clubs, and those that are owned by larcenous oligarchs or seedy petrostates.
Seems to be pulling the lower clubs up somewhat, Schurrle to Fulham etc, but I dont think we are anywhere close to a level playing field.
There is massive gap between us and the rest of the top 6, and then between the top 6 and the rest its even larger...
FFP
O noooooo
Don’t threaten ffp.
Ffp is a joke
Up to £70m for an experienced, tried and tested, EPL player - or the same for a kid that looks like he could be great - but who knows?
What do you think is the sensible move for us right now? Bear in mind we dont have money to gamble £70m on a prospect.
The Bale/Modric/Sanchez route is the one that has worked for us, rather than the Sissoko route.
As we are already well stocked in that position, I'd definitely gamble on the younger player with the much higher ceiling
The solution is to brexit Manchester out of the UK while the rest of us stay. And Liverpool too now that I think about it.Yeah, agreed. And the gap between the Mancunian members of the top 6, and the other four, is pretty mad too.
You also seem to think Sissoko is an AM, so youll have to forgive me if I dont take your view on this one.
While Ill always advocate buying young talent, if given the choice between Zaha and Sessegnon, today, for £50-70m - I would take Zaha all day long.
I feel we need a player who will perform immediately in this case, and Zaha is much more likely to be that man. We are playing big boys football, but we arent City and cant afford to gamble with those sums.
Sessegnon is going to explode into the EPL next season. He easily should have gone to the WC ahead of Sterling.
It wouldn't surprise me if in 12 months time he's considered in the M'Bappe/O Dembele bracket and is heading to Spain for over £100m.
