Strawberries are not the only fruit

Re: Strawberries in a salad

Racing season, down to salads and pasta and not a lot else. Pretty much a veggie from now till September.

Drinking gatorade by the gallons at the moment as I get older it is hard to keep posting times I want to post.
What is racing season and what is posting?

I'm suspicious that it may involve lycra. Which would explain the salad eating.

Yes it does involve lycra:) I shave my legs to that is another little tip for you:p Chichester will be a quieter place soon but I shall have to do something big to leave my mark before I go. Just not sure what yet.......

never got into the leg shaving, although I don't like the way your leg hairs poke through the bib so get why people do it

You heal quicker after you crash the cuts take longer to heal with hairs and are more prone to infection.

Also feels nicer when you masturbate wearing silk stockings.

Re: Strawberries in a salad

anyone know a good second hand bike source, I'm having real trouble of hitting the sweet spot between "good enough to commute on every day" and "cheap enough that I can leave it locked up outside day"

I've bought a couple of bikes on eBay without any problems

thanks, I am tapping that resource at the minute, looks like the best value, got about 15 on my watch list and narrowly missed out on a nice 80s Peugeot racer by a few quid on Monday

I'd kinda assumed (hoped) there would be warehouses full of stuff and websites flogging them

sorry for the wrong thread, all chich's tights and masturbation comments made me think I was in the cycling thread

Peugeots are nice bikes. You'll pick one up at a decent price if you bide your time.

Re: Strawberries in a salad

Very very thinly sliced orange is lovely in a salad with some Manchega cheese and prosciutto

How are the properly cheap bikes these days? I haven't had a bike in 7-8 years really, but I've considered getting one now. Just mixed use, going to and from work, some light exercise perhaps. Would want to use it on gravel paths, but no real off road riding.

Would something dirt cheap last me a while and do well or is it futile to go for the cheapest bikes around?

(I live in Norway so links to UK retailers isn't much use, but specific brand names you know are good would be fine)

in my experience, cheap bikes have never been worse, definitely go for an established make, someone like specialized or scott for example, right now in the uk you are looking at at least £400 for something that doesn't have cheap components or fall apart within 6 months

i'm only after cheap as its more than likely gonna get nicked but i need to do 12 miles a day on it hence being after a second hand one

edit: i know as a retailer they are no use to you but if you look on evanscycles.com, if they sell it, its decent

Interesting, cheers!

Yeah, buying something that falls apart within 6 months is pretty much what I want to avoid. Knowing myself I'm sure I'll get lazy soon enough, but I would rather not having a failing bike to blame.

You probably got a decent chunk of holiday pay or some money back on your taxes, buy a hybrid bike, take good care of it, and you'll have a more than decent enough bike for the next 10-20 years. I see that XXL has a few, for 4k you can get a Merida with hydraulic brakes and suspension fork, perfect for going to work and the occasional trip down a gravel road. Just my two cents.
