Spurs vs Southampton, the OMT no-one wants to start

lurker of old

Sebastien Bassong
So, Spurs against Southampton at WHL, Sunday 6 April at 2.00pm, no OMT as yet. No Tom Jones, no custard, have the OMT Gods deserted us?
Will the men in white shirts simply collapse or will they produce a stirring second half fightback to claim a draw? Or will we see a miracle, an organised display of attacking intent?
I'll be cheering the team on, but going to the game almost feels like a punishment. I have very little confidence in our players and if we perform poorly, the stadium will empty and the remaining crowd might turn on Ange.

We Go Again FC to get back to winning ways

I'm expecting quite a bit of rotation though with Thursday coming up, not sure why really though as some haven't played very much in last 3 weeks

Vicario
Porro Gray VDV Spence
Bissouma Sarr Bentacur
Johnson Solanke Tel

Will be terrible until Bergvall, Odobert, Son, Maddison all have to come on in the 60th minute when we're one nil down

If we lose that game too, I hope someone at the club will have the decency to put him out of his misery. I really can't see us not winning there, but Southampton did get a draw with Crystal Palace so, who knows? I can't remember being that bored watching Spurs in a long, long time. We used to be very good against inferior teams at least so maybe Sunday's game will be entertaining.

We'll stuff them, Ange n the players will be all "now we build the momentum for Thursday and be ready" only for us to get rolled on Thursday and not build on anything.

Pessimistic old fart that I am :)
That’s as optimistic a prediction as I’ve seen to be honest.

I could see us losing if we were playing any other team but Southampton are abysmal. I’ll regret this at 4pm tomorrow but I do think we’ll win.

I had forgotten we played tomorrow so booked tickets for me and my son to watch the new Minecraft movie. Oh well, «insert joke about how lucky I am».

I still haven't told myself I'm going tomorrow. Just enjoying the weather and the beers for now.

  • Ange Postecoglou has only won 44 points from his past 39 league matches in charge of Spurs.
  • Only the top flight's bottom four teams have lost more Premier League games this season than Tottenham, who have been beaten on 16 occasions.
  • It is their most top-flight losses in a season since they were defeated 19 times in 2003-04 under Glenn Hoddle and David Pleat.
  • Spurs have claimed just one victory in their last 10 home league matches (D3, L6), having won seven of their previous 10 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
  • They have conceded an average of 1.73 goals per Premier League home game this season, shipping 26 in 15 fixtures - the only campaign in which they had a worse record was 2007-08 (34 in 19 matches, 1.79 per game).
  • Spurs have won 11 of their last 14 league matches against sides starting the day at the bottom of the table.
  • Son Heung-min has 11 goals and seven assists in 16 top-flight appearances against Southampton.
  • James Maddison has scored a career-best seven Premier League goals in 11 games against the Saints.
  • Spurs have kept just one clean sheet in the past eight league games when Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have started together and have lost each of the last three.

That's horrific reading.
