Who plays alongside Sanchez? Mourinho has already said Reguilon will be rested, so it won't be Davies and he doesn't see Tanganga as a CB. Dier is the only option with those parameters.

It could be Davies with either Tananga or Cirkin at LB or the Tananga stuff could be guff.
 
We can't risk Dier here playing from the start (as well as PEH, Son, Kane).
If Dier's injuried, we gonna play against Chelsea and Arsenal with Sanchez-Rodon.

Much as I agree, I think we need to play a CB who can lead -- it's not just about defending ability, but also leadership, marshalling the defensive line, and so on. I've never seen much of that in Sanchez -- and to be honest, I'd rather he focus on his own game as much as possible. I don't think Davies is a suitable partner for Sanchez in a back 4, which leaves DIer.

If Doherty's recovered, he could do with a run-out, but I think half an hour at the end of the game would be better for him than starting. It'd be good to see Cirkin too.

Lo Celso needs minutes, as does Bale, and Dele deserves time to play himself into form in his favoured position. Therefore:

We’re playing a reserve Ludogreta side
They should be on par with a mid table championship side and be as much of a rag tag team as ours... except of course our back ups are of a better quality than their starters

Good shout. Could take the pressure off him scoring as well. Big experienced lad, he should be able to defend well, and of course, get forward when there is space to exploit.

Would mirror his evolution with us first time around, hopefully minus the jinx :)
