***Spurs vs Leeds United***, PL, 4th October 2025 at Elland Road

It doesn't matter - it caused confusion/hesitation, which is what the rule is there to protect against.
I did think that
They enforced the rule after the confusion in that pool game vs Sunderland
But in reality it didn’t affect the goal …. Unless it’s why Destiny didn’t track his man

"If an extra ball, other object, or animal enters the field, play must stop"

But goes on to say

an extra ball, other object or animal enters the field of play during the match, the referee must:
stop play (and restart with a dropped ball) only if it interferes with play unless the ball is going into the goal and the interference does not prevent a defending player playing the ball, the goal is awarded if the ball enters the goal (even if contact was made with the ball) unless unless the interference was by the attacking team
allow play to continue if it does not interfere with play and have it removed at the earliest possible opportunity

It does not interfere

Was Vicario 100% sure which one was the one coming back after his parry? That was a level of interference

Just saw MOTD. Some unreal passing from Simons. Thought it looked like we counter attacked really well. Vic initially a bit shaky, but made a lot of great saves as well. So happy for Tel! Odobert looked to have done a few good bits as well. Nice!

It’s so nice being able to enjoy MotD on a Saturday night after a good win!

Shame about the time wasting though. Was the same at Brentford. First two throwins 2nd half took 40 secs each. Kudus free kick took over 3 mins. Porro corner took over 1 minute. Goal celebration was well over 1 minute. Only 6 mins injury time so he added nothing on for time wasting and added 10 seconds for all the subs.

I was actually being sarcastic - it's far too early for him to have implemented anything properly.

Not got a problem with any time wasting that we've seen so far - valid tactic to help see out a game afaic
