***Spurs vs Leeds United***, PL, 4th October 2025 at Elland Road

Agree about the rotation. Third in the league and undefeated in the two CL games, you can't complain with the results.

I don't agree Udogie has looked immaculate, he's still showing inconsistencies and making mistakes. His latest one being letting his man go for him to slot in the equaliser. However he's looking like he's getting back to his best going forward, hopefully the rest of his games comes together as the season goes along....
Yeah, it was more the second half, small sample size for sure. It's just when he's on it he's so professional, I don't really have the word for what I mean, can't put my finger on it.

Hard fought fudging win. Tel got a goal, Kudus got his first goal. Odobert was ok, had a couple of quality moments but I want to see more. Kudus again showed hes by fair our best attacker. Ideally we need players of the same quality on the left and through the middle (pray for Muani 🤲)

You recently commented that with theb likes of Tel and Odobert, no-one can know which way the dial will go. Very true. But as most of us have had at least three decades (in my case 5 conscious) of watching the game, I think we're fine to speculate. I've speculated for some time that I think Tel will absolutely develop into a top talent if he can get a consistent position and matches. He has touch, class, and personality. I think Odobert has touch and data-backed skill but not the personality to use it to it's maximum; I think Tel has a higher ceilling.

No I get it, I like him and pray he comes back to be the player he was in first season pre injury. And there are green shoots he is getting there for sure. But even a 70% Udogie is better for us than Spence at LB, because a natural left footed LB gives us so much more balance and really would like us to look at getting in another one at some point in the future....

I think Tel will make it for sure. Odobert, he obviously has talent - I think it will massively help him if he works on his physique/the physical side a little - he looks like he can be bullied off the ball/outmuscled quite easily. Definitely not writing him off, yesterday we saw glimpses of his talent....

I'm not debating the effectiveness of different styles, I'm debating the claim managers just come in and setup this way to begin with, or this mythical claim that Frank is just playing this way to begin with - perhaps I've missed him saying so himself somewhere.

Managers tend to come in from the beginning of their tenure and get the players to play their way, and Frank is no different - this is exactly how he got Brentford playing. Usually the only time a manager comes in with a 'Be solid first' style of play is when coming in halfway through a season and the team is in a relegation battle.

That's not to say Frank can't/wont change his style over time and of course as has already been mentioned having some of our attacking players back will help out the attacking unit regardless of style. At the end of the day he's done well to negate the injuries and we are effective so it's all good so far....
So to recap, its a myth, but it could happen.

Exactly :D No seriously, it might happen but what we are seeing right now is Franks go to style.

He hopefully will elaborate on this, will be interesting to see where he takes us from here as he's obviously done great in getting us solid and a cohesive unit. And this is new territory for him, so we will be witnessing him growing as a manger having to expand his style and manage heightened expectations. Good luck to him, he's a very likeable guy....
