Spurs v Monaco OMT

What is it with this competition that, even 5 mins in, seems to bring out the absolute worst in our supposedly talented squad!!??

Every game, even those we got points in, we've looked nervy, short on ideas, devoid of confidence not to mention ability.

Alli - buck your ideas up lad! You've just proved in 5 big games why you're not the superstar darling that many believe you to be! No impact on these games of any sorts.

Someone needs to man up and tell Poch that we got rid of AVB for good reason.

What is his masterplan? Fanny around, stand off, capitulate, jog?

I find Poch's press conferences crashingly dull but I assume that is on purpose, so he doesn't say anything to hit the headlines. But Jesus, do the players truly want this, or are they just playing a game of football, quick sip of Lucozade, back on the bus?

He has, in honesty, said time and again this season that we're lacking energy and pace. It just seems like we're not instructed to counter attack though. It's like we're not setting up for it. When we win the ball, there should be a bell going inside our offensive player's heads to get into positions, but it doesn't seem to happen. We're just standing there, pausing with the ball, passing it sideways. It does look like it's the way we're set up to play, but I can't believe we are, as we surely didn't play that way last season, and it wouldn't make sense to play AVB-ball this season.

whats the point in even playing in the Europa now? this lot werent even interested in battling with the giants of Europe.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves re. the Europa League. If CSKA fancy it, they could turn us over at Wembley, because I don't see our players fighting for 3rd place. It will be infront of 3 men and a dog and it will be phucking freezing cold, with what is mostly likely a complete second XI starting the game. Right at this moment, I don't care, we got to put some work in against Chelsea at the weekend.

Only positive is that we are going to smash Chelsea at the weekend, or get a draw as a minimum.
Similar to the build up to the filth.
Doesn't make it any easier to swallow tonight but it will be so different v chavs

Nothing to do with Wembley IMO. Our performances have simply been abject. Devoid of creativity, but also devoid of organisation, passion and will to win.
But why ? why should that be ?? We seem to play well enough at the Lane, lots of passion, running, creativity... gonna have to think this one out

Wembley?
Injuries?
No kane?
Lack of passion?
Whats our excuse for not even 80% of the current season we cant even get our basic right ?

These are NO excuses for a soccer team who is playing side ways. Back to hugo back. Appearing clueless most of the match. Poch.. solve this now. Get our basics right before u allow our young player of the year last season to indulge in his flicks and nutmegs. I understand wanyama may have brought bite into our midfield but poch, u need to sort out the balance!

I believe we are not asking our spurs to play like barcelona but at least ... get our basic right.. and play like we learn from previous lessons...

I have *no* confidence that Poch will actually see it as worth winning. I wouldn't mind if we went full gun in the EL, but I fear that Poch will just bin it as he binned the League Cup, in favour of jockeying for fourth place so that we can embarass ourselves again in the CL next season.

If Poch wants to win things, this would be a good place to start. But, as I said, I have zero confidence that he gives a brick about winning anything anytime soon.

Well huge reality check. Turns out our squad at the very least is nowhere near to the level required for the champions league. Perhaps we are ahead of where we should be right now, but important to learn.

Very disappointed in the performance tonight. Bar Hugo no one can really come out with any real credit. The whole champions league campaign has been a disaster and we have been poor for most of the season. Time to put it right starting on the training ground. Poch needs to get back to working on instilling that work ethic which absolutely suffocated teams last season.

Also NO MORE F*CKING INJURIES PLEASE!

I want us to get back to fielding last years first XI week in week out.

Sorry, but unless we play out of our skins, le chavs, and conte, will tonk us - they will be rabid to try and put us down, especially after this showing. THIS will be a statement game - for both of us I feel.

We have been poor in the CL agreed, but if we were really gutless and as spineless as many of you claim I doubt we would currently be unbeaten in the league and just 4 points off the top. Anybody can get behind a team when they are doing well how about we get behind the team after tonight's performance.

We lost 1:5 against Saudi Sportswashing Machine and we have done okay in the league since then. We get knocked out of the CL tonight and we get behind the team because we have Chelsea on Saturday

and that in itself is an utter disgrace. To be up for London derbies and play like a pub team in Europe.

And so it begins

Also, if Dier ever dares to suggest that he can play at center-back ever again, just kneecap the man. Christ, that was one of the worst performances I've seen a center-back give since...since 2014-2015, actually.

Four Two Three fudging One!

Started three new formations in three games. Why?

Its like something Brendan Rodgers would do to look clever.

what's worrying is we have been playing poorly in all the CL games, perhaps bar one
