Seriously. None of our defenders are anything but brainless and stupid when he isn't there - he stitches everything together, and thinks for the entire back four. Without him, there isn't a brain between them.

Why aren't the two CBs Verts and Wimmer playing alongside each other. It's about time Dier was played where he was so effective last season - next to Dembele in midfield. Honestly, I think Poch has too many players he wants to keep happy and so it is constant rotation and different formations and it is not doing us any favours at all. He should stick as closely to what we had last season - with the occasional change to 3 at the back possibly, against weaker opposition.

That wasn't Trippier's fault. He's covering the danger in the middle, the wide man should be covering him. Winks is most culpable on the pitch but it's the narrow fudging shape Poch has set us up with that's most at fault.

Yup, but to be honest the youth of this team doesn't explain switching off. We have a couple of slightly older and more experienced heads, AND Poch, who should know better.
