Not sure. We've only scored once in 4 of the last 5 matches. Emirates Marketing Project was the first time since Burnley that we scored more than 2. So finishing is very much a problem for me, especially when you look at possession and shot counts.Good on him. You can sense that he’s steaming. There is one point I slightly disagree with him and most of the analysis of us. For sure, we could score more and be more ruthless.
The bigger problem for me is at the back. We’re conceding more than 2 goals a game. You can’t rely on scoring 3 to win a game. In all 5 games recently, we’ve scored enough goals to win games and put ourselves in positions to win games and we’ve been, as Sonny said, too soft. Whether that’s all down to absentees remains to be seen but conceding like we are isn’t sustainable.
We all know the longer a game stays at 1-0, the more the opposition is going to get into it, so we need to be killing them off early - you can't be planning to win 1-0 every match. It doesn't take much to shift the momentum of a game, as we've seen with Wolves, Villa and West Ham.
The team is also still very much adapting to this style, combined with a really thin squad means that lately, we've looked very tired in the latter stages in my opinion. Compare that to Sheffield United, Arsenal and Liverpool when we really kept going right to the end.
