So, what happened today?

Try me! I've been stuck in a bit of a rut, I cycle around 10 / 15 miles a day and pop on either some lo fi electronic "mood music" like fourtet or boards of Canada or some braggadocious hip hop on my phone. But I rarely sit down to listen to full album with headphones. Kinda sad really. I did listen to the new(ish) sleep token album and fudging loved it tbf

That's a very solid summary. I think it became cool to dislike them and GHod forbid having a front man who has the audacity to not eat the rotting flesh of animal corpses (not i don't work in marketing!). One particularly excellent superhans line that gets regularly quoted without appropriately giving credit comes to mind!

It's interesting, there's plenty of grown men who've modelled their whole vibe on the Gallagher brothers, haircuts, clothes and the way they carry themselves...As i said, I can't stand them but there's obviously something special there. If you're famous, chances are there'll be a bunch of people who can't stand you, it's hard to be universally liked apart from for Son I guess.

There's so much music out there now to delve in to but if you're happy listening to what I would consider slop on the radio, then fair enough.
Tangerinecat
Russian Circles
They might appeal if you liked SleepToken

The Clause - fantastic indie band
The Rolla - very oasis like

Dead Pony
Scene Queen
Electro punk metal with a bit of attitude

The Wandering Hearts if you want something more acoustic and country. I get to a gig every couple of weeks - they are hands down the best vocals I've ever heard, absolutely beautiful.

Having a drink earlier in our local roostertail bar/restaurant. Saw a group of about half a dozen kids - not sure on ages as I’m not too good with guessing but I’d say between 10-14, certainly young - go into the Budgens shop opposite. A few minutes later the shutters started to go down, the kids were then outside and the guys that run the shop were in the doorway. Kids were clearly hurling abuse at them and also chucking the advertising boards outside and also what I think were drink cans at the staff. I was so shocked at what I was seeing that it was nearly all over by the time it occurred to me to video what was going on. The kids ran off towards the train station. I went over to the shop to offer the guys the bit of video I had taken. They said the kids had gone in and nicked a load of vapes. But as it was kids, they couldn’t do anything to stop them.
I’m really not a naive person by any stretch and I guess this was petty in compared to a lot of what goes on. But it was so blatant and such a lack of respect from kids so young.
We’ve all had high jinx in our youth I’m sure and done things we might not be proud of now, but why should people just doing a job have to put up with that?

Cheers, I'll have a listen (but not to The Rolla because they sound fudging GHod awful!).

Punk isn't really my thing either tbh. I've been to many shows where I could walk on stage and any part of the ensemble by ear without rehearsal. Musicianship isn't everything as the message is important but fudge, repeating the same monotonous flimflam riff, while someone bangs on about problems without any solution, isn't my thing. It's possible I've not seen the best of punk, I love the clash for example, sex pistols meh, I like the idea of the damned but haven't listened to them. It's probably too broad of a genre to say I flat out don't like it i guess..
