Serious relegation fears

We really are in a title fight now arent we?

stone the fooking crows

Incredible isn't it! Personally I think Arse have an easier set out fixtures left than us, and also that Leicester not having Europe or the FAC is a massive advantage. The NLD is going to be huge, and given their run-in, we could really do with winning it

Right then, Poch picked the team I thought for the City game. Now let' see how we lineup for Fiorentina!

Kane looked absolutely shagged when he came off today. I really hope he doesn't go to Florence and can put his feet up for a week

This is why I think we should play totally different elevens on the Thursday and Sunday. I would start the 1st X1 v Palace and worry about the next round if we get through

Definitely. This is where we could have really done with N'jie being fit. Anybody got any updates by the way. Son to start v Fiorentina. Wonder if Harrsion might get a place in the bench, seems to have had a bit of exposure on the Club website, wonder if he is very close to a place in the squad?

I wouldn't quite go that far however I definitely would rotate more than Poch. I'd like it if each of our first 11 had one of the two Fiorentina and FAC games completely off. We have a big enough squad to do that

I would continue to trust Poch to get it right. I think part of the reason we are here is because Poch knows exactly how to keep that 25 man squad all on-calibre-point and all ticking. As for Kane looking knackered, Lampard often looked like that...

You never really know with Poch -- you sometimes think a player will surely get the next game off, and then he doesn't. And then he might rest that same player in another game where you expected him to start.

Obviously, as per my other post, I think Harry will start but I don't think I have ever guessed the correct XI when it comes to a game where Poch rotates. Today's XI was easy to guess, it almost picked itself. Fiorentina, I'll be surprised if I get 10 out of 11 right!

Leicester have a stop start season now, momentum might be hard to sustain.

Good point. After a defeat you sometimes want to get straight back out on the pitch as soon as possible to get it out of the system rather than 'stewing on it'. They now have to mull it over for two weeks.
We have lost 5 times so far this season, and bar the United match we have got 'back on the bike' within days and set off on another run
After United 7 day wait, but went on a 6-match unbeaten run
After Arsenal 3 days later smashed City 4-1 at home
After Feyenoord 3 days later smashed Bournemouth 5-1
After Saudi Sportswashing Machine 6 days 2-0 win at Southampton to begin 3 wins on the bounce
After Leciester 4 days later bounce back to wallop Sunderland 4-1 and here we are 7 wins later

A two-week break could be the last thing they need right now. I cant see them dropping points at home to Norwich, but....in this crazy season.

My 2 surprises were no Trippier and Lamela starting. Thought KT had done enough to keep his place and Lamela's tenacity would get the nod over Son's pace, but as I always say, thats why we post on a forum and he is the Manager

Leicester have a lot of time on their hands between games. maybe to much time now, start dwelling on things and lose focus, two weeks to listen nothing but league talk, or if they take a break away somewhere it can affect sharpness.

Arsenal must be thinking it's all but theirs, but can you imagine the meltdown if they don't win it! Wenger will be hunted.

I wouldn't like to pick a winner at this stage, but our chances are as good as anyone's.

I would have went that as well but I think in trying to get the jump on each other the managers gave changed it up. Sons been on to get behind, and city have kept their fbs back. Kind of killed the game a bit. Do we care, do we fudge

Trying to calm down a bit, we must remember there are still 36 points to play for, and we have other comps which will no doubt test us.

We are in a great position and are there on merit, I have never seen a spurs squad with such amazing team spirit...

We have a chance but must keep our feet on the ground...still a long way to go...boring but...one match at a time.

Poch has never been involved in a title race before - actually as far as I know he's never been seriously involved in any sort of "race", except maybe a relegation scrap in his first season at Espanyol.

Will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure, the squad rotation at the business end of the season, and also the media mind games that will come with it. The good news for him is that he's up against Ranieri and Wenger who are both serial chokers when it comes to title races. Ranieri has never won a league title and Wenger hasn't since Dele Alli was 8 years old...

I totally agree. I had 'forbid' myself from thinking about the 'T' word until at least the end of March. But the elation of today has made me get a bit ahead of myself. Like you, it's the feeling of total unity - team spirit - that I am seeing, that makes me believe this year can be extraordinarily special. And the fact that we have rarely been outplayed all season. I will be more than happy if we finish in a CL spot, but suddenly the bigger prize is in scope. I don't want to get carried away and tempt fate. But seriously, aren't we as good now as any of our immediate competitors? This team believes we can do something special. And if the team believes it, shouldn't we?

Pochettino and Newell’s won the Apertura in 1990-91 and the Clausura in 1991-92, which saw them qualify for the Copa Libertadores. In their 1992 Libertadores campaign, they were beaten in the final by São Paulo on penalties. When Pochettino was a youth player at Newell’s, the club won the 1987-88 Primera División title, which was before the days of the season being split into two, although he did not feature.

Brilliant post mate! you have done us all a dis service from being a lurker for so long.

Yes we can believe! we should believe we have proved over the 26 games we are good enough to fight for the title.

As spurs fans its hard for us to be a snake and shed our skin...the skin that tells us we always guff things up or that we will bottle things when it matters, or lady luck will shaft us!

But we should evolve at least for now anyway...whether we triumpth or come up short it wont be because of 'bottling it' we have so many testing days ahead, still a massive wodge of points to fight for.

I feel utterly euphoric with that result...but my head tells me its not time to start sucking our own d**cks just yet! we NEED to fight like lions for another 12 epl matches and hope our luck holds.

Hard to believe or comprehend for my tiny little mind but yes....we are in with a shot at the title...

drink that in fellow spurs fans!!!
