Serious relegation fears

Exactly! It's like some on here have amnesia or something...

If you always do what you've always done you'll always get the same results.

That was Spurs but not anymore, what we're seeing this season is a completely different team, style of play and mentality. We used to switch off after 80 minutes now we're playing the full 90 and at full pace. I'm not saying we'll win the league but I'm certainly not ruling out the possibility.

I don't think anybody is ruling out us winning the league; i am just saying we cannot rule Arsenal out either - yet. And we also cannot rule out another late collapse by us...we've seen it many time before. I'm not necessarily expecting it - Just saying...

I'm all for positivity and certainly am not ruling out our own title bid. But you'd be foolish to simply write off Arsenal's. Yes their recent form is poor, but they have strung a sequence of 5 wins on the bounce before this season. They will be looking at needing something close to a 100% record from now, but 9 games is still a fair way to go.

Focus on us. Win our games and give ourselves a chance.

No ones counting chickens, just saying that what happened in the past isn't necessarily sure to happen again.
Er ... see below.
Here's I say Arsenal are out of it. Even if they get 22 points from the last 27 like Leicester did at the end of last season that only puts them on 74 points.
Leicester need only 14 points from 27 to get 74 points. Thats just W4 D2 L3.
They don't just need to go on an incredible run they need Leicester to pretty much collapse too.
I prefer to wait for the fat lady myself.

Okay we got a good hiding tonight, but it could help us in the run-in. I am convinced we would have been running on fumes come the Chelsea match. Now we are almost on a par with Leicester with games remaining.

After tonight
Leicester 9 to play
Tottenham 10 to play more than likely
Arsenal Minimum of 11 to play. Possible 19, but more likely to be 13
Emirates Marketing Project Minimum of 11 to play. Possible 16
West Ham Minimum of 10 to play. Possible 13, likely to stay at 10
Man United Minimum of 11 to play. Possible 19
Liverpool Minimum of 11 to play. Possible 16

Liverpool have a favourable run-in and are still an outside threat to 4th. I would prefer them to win in the EL tonight to clog up their April, but even a United win is fine as they would then have a Thursday night game before we play each other on the 8th, and it looks like we wont.

All in all I think our chances of a CL spot could have improved tonight despite the disappointing result. I think the title is still a step too far. That view could have changed by March 20th, but I dont see Leicester slipping up in their next 2 matches

Well, the major positive of tonight is we'll at least be able to focus solely on the league from next Thursday and we'll be playing one game a week only, especially important for the horrible upcoming month.

I think we now realistically have a race to finish top 3; we are as close to City and Arsenal as we are to Leicester. I think Poch and the Board realise that, hence the team last night (esp after our last two chances to go top even temporarily were not taken).

Top 3 will be a great achievement and if we don;t win the league (quite likely) we should not for get where we were last summer and how much folly it would have been to even think of a title.

COYS

McClaren gone. Leicester to suffer on Monday please.

Just about to post that! Here is hoping for a new manager bounce from Saudi Sportswashing Machine, in fairness they arent THAT bad in terms of quality of player, they are just a collection of individuals rather than a team.
