Serge Aurier

I agree. It's not ego, just a dangerous blend of confidence and stupidity. Aurier's certainly put the effort in, just without always being able to read the situation. Plenty of pace and talent, just not enough gumption to go with it. A reverse Milner, if you will.

Good luck to him. He's not the player we need, but hopefully Royal won't be a busted flush!
Limited decision making, concentration. It's interesting though that those attributes are seen more as the player's fault, whereas limited technical ability is just limited talent.

He did improve on those areas though, and imo didn't get enough credit for that.
Sorry ego may be the wrong choice of words
What would you call someone that assault a policeman or their girlfriend ?
Narcissist is probably better
And maybe playing footy took his mind of things. Sometimes work is relief
Not sure I need a single word to describe that... It's completely unacceptable though, just like Hugo's drunk driving and many other behaviours seem by other players (and other people of course).

See no reasons to excuse that at all. I hope he's grown as a person since then, for his sake and those around him. I think he may have, but difficult to know.

Seeing a few of these rumours flying around on Twitter. Not that I believe it, but it would be quite funny if he ended up there. Especially if he started ahead of Tomiyasu, leading him to follow the rest of the Japanese players they've signed over the years.

Given that he's an Arsenal fan this is entirely possible.
The main thing at this stage in his career would be wants to play at an elevated level to where he has been or whether he sees his career plateauing out now and hence a stint at his 'boyhood club' is a worthwhile way to bring the curtain down on his career...

Would be hilarious if he did end up there though:D

Think it's a flimflam source but either way, I wouldn't be happy, he's a decent player regardless of what our fans think. I'd much rather they have brick players ..

I'd be relatively ambivilant myself tbh; Serge is not as bad as some have him, but his bad reputation is also not baseless..i think overall at this time he'd add to their problems.
Personally i think it would show him in a poor light if he went there now (as opposed to in say two years time)

He'd come off as a prick to be honest

He's wanted to leave the club for 2-3 years now, I'd assumed part of that was UK, part of that was him thinking he could get a better club. To get your contract cancelled when you couldn't attract a move to go to a rival at the bottom of the league with very little real prospects in next couple of seasons, is a brick move.

He's an Arsenal fan, so....

I think he's a decent player when playing in a settled team. They're anything but settled and will bring out the worst in him I think, and he'll unsettle them further. Happy days (and maybe wishful thinking.)

Just Aurier doing Aurier things.

There was talk that he turned down all the transfers Tottenham offered him on deadline day.

Had he already identified a move to Arsenal?

If he was maybe 2/3 years older, perhaps. But i still think he rates himself higher than going to Arsenal at this time

I seriously cannot for the life of me comprehend anyone who will be happy - and obviously approve - for this homophobe moving to the scum down the road. He cheated us from a transfer fee when Lille were interested because he is "gold and green for life". And then he plays us like a fiddle to get a free transfer to the scum and a juicy signing on fee??? And we're fine with that??

Couldn't care less wanted him out a long time ago. Let him stink out the place elsewhere

We didn’t want to keep him either, neither side owes the other anything now.

Have a feeling that this episode will knock sense into him and he will be a better player. So I don't wish to see him go to Arsenal.
