Sandro Tonali

Multiple sources have mentioned he wants to come here and some have even said we have an agreement with him over terms. They reckon Saudi Sportswashing Machine want £90m and we have offered £75m, just pay the £90m and get it done as if Arsenal pay what they want for Bruno then Tonali isn’t going anywhere.
I just don't think we have the money.

100 million injected barely touches the side, we need to offload players.

Don’t think it’s anything to do with being an attractive proposition or not now, both players are widely reported to be happy to come and some saying terms agreed with the players already.

The issue is with matching the selling club’s valuation, or them just not wanting to sell.
Yes happy to come, but not first choice. Hence why Fernandes will be going to Man U, there is no rush for them to actually sign - they will sign for us if a better club doesn't come in.

And big fees aren't that quick to conclude, like I say it took City some time with Anderson. There are multiple reasons why it was never going to be a quick deal, and posters putting both Fernandes and Tonali in their lineups as likely being done was always going to be found to be somewhat premature.....

And fans have no idea what is being discussed
City have taken over 6 months to get Anderson agreed

We have to sell for money and also squad numbers
Issue is that some of the players we want to sell are at the World Cup
And clubs generally take their time too when an event is on

Who says we are skint? Every big club sells players, have only seen mentioned the sales of Bergvall and Vuskovic both who want to leave of their own accord because we don't see them in our first team.

All whilst we have signed one player for 50 odd million, two big wage free transfers and actively looking to sign big money players before actually having sold anyone. Hardly screams we are skint....

Is the ri ght answer. But they will speculate/guess anyway.

This line comes up time and time again, along with Bedford's response of, "We don't know what's going on behind the scenes."

If we were only allowed to comment on facts that are 100% certain, these threads would be pretty sparse. Speculation is part of the point of a transfer rumours thread. It begs the question: why even have one if half the responses are simply, "We don't know what's happening behind the scenes"?

Fair points, HOWEVER there is nothing wrong with speculating about something we DO NOT KNOW. But when we are guessing/ speculating why do SOME start slagging the club off when[ in your own word we are only speculating] and none of us know what is really happening. That never stops the usual suspects having yet another dig at the club.

The issue is that people choose to flip flop on the basis like random brick
There is no quality filter in rumours so anyone can say anything
The issue is some opened believe everything …
And fans really don’t know what goes on behind the scenes
These are deals that have many many people involved and many many moving parts. It’s not like buying a pint of milk FFS

Not defending our owners but the reports are Arsenal bid <60M for BrunoG, unless they really plan to massively increase the offer, they are taking the tinkle.
Maybe they know something that fans don’t… about Saudi Sportswashing Machine
Seems an odd bid otherwise

Do they even need him and isn’t Bruno 29? Surely you are not going to drop the £70 - £80m they would want on a 29 year old?

My mistake he is 28, 29 in a few months. I suppose he consistently scores goals from midfield. If he gets them the goals they need and gets them over the line for the Champions league then he pays for himself.

Exactly... I think we have so become accustomed to penny pinching and deadline day deals that faced with the massive transfer acrivity the management team is doing, we must come up with some form of depressing reason why this is happening....

It’s nice that there’s a new found patience in the fan base. I’ve been arguing that transfers can take time for years but it was always “just pay the money Levy” or “haggling over 50p”etc. Not hearing too much of that this window with the Fernandez, Tonali and Savinho sagas. Makes for a much better forum.

We don't have the cash flow, it's in the accounts.

If West Ham want a big chunk upfront, we can't do it unless the board put more money in.
