A friend of nearly 40 years with no axe to grind (he actually likes Tottenham - feels there is a lot of parallels between us and them).

Not to say he can’t be a much more consistent player with us. Here’s hoping…

I'm imagining he's a cog in a machine type player. He had the midfield support at Saudi Sportswashing Machine with Guimares and JoeLinton taking on other skill sets and I think he'll get that here once everyone is settled.

I was hoping he'd be a player that would really impose himself and standout in games (I think Bentancur is more likely to be that tbh) but maybe that's a misjudgement on my part?

no he was an all action midfielder in italy, not just a system player, good first touch, great engine and burst of speed. we will see it in time i am confident
