Saido Berahino

;)

did you ever think you'd see the day when you'd consider not qualifying for the CL as failure?

Gawd I tell you what I appreciate all the education I am receiving tonight, I have learned that transfers are actually quite complicated, squad unity is more important than only having one recognised striker, and that I am whinnying whining twit who does not understand the majesty of poch or his divine plan.

The lesson now is appreciate what we have and dont dismiss it...

its probably the best I have had tonight to be fair.

Thing is with Berahino. He is cup-tied for the FA Cup and would we be able to register him for the EL anyway at this stage?

Hmmm, not sure what that's supposed to mean. He's insinuating that he's making the same mistake again? The mistake of thinking he's going to sign for Spurs, and therefore saying goodbye (thanks for the support)? Or is he saying he's not going to make the same mistake again (which doesn't explain the "here you go"-part). I don't get it.

Doesn't suggest he is making a move does it? Pearce probably rightly thinks that if a new manager comes in, or with all the fresh PL cash, he can not go wrong keeping hold of the player. And if he scores a few goals in the meantime it might help keep them up. Can we get Dembele done or are Chadli, Son and Njie auditioning for CF backup?

I think he's referring to the post he made on Twitter about not playing for Pearce again last transfer window.
As for the last bit is he thanking the WBA fans for their support when he plays or because he's leaving?

I think it means he feels the same as last window. And people now expect him to mouth off. And he's not going to...

He referring to him himself as the spoilt buy from last time. Looks like he's accepted he's staying. See what happens in the summer I guess.

They can keep that bit to themselves, although I'll never forget seeing the window shutting without us buying anyone, then later a gooner telling me we'd signed VdV after the window had shut. Priceless.

Snap! Same happened with me (only it was a Liverpool fan instead of a Gooner)

imo, we've never been HERE before, this is the strongest position we have been in in the modern era

Yes we were here under Redknapp and we signed Nielsen and Saha. We know how that season ended.

This is not the strongest not even the second strongest we have been. We had better chances during AVB and Redknapp's tenures.

its not just the squad, its the training ground, the stadium, tbe scouting setup, the youth players, we are in rude health

i'd argue that AVB and (certainly) Redknapp had some better individuals, but neither had the depth chart we have now, we are not carrying anyone, every member of the first team squad offers us something

Training ground -AVB had it too, he did his 'holding the shirt up' promo pics in the new indoor training place iirc . Scouting setup - perhaps, although Black Box Mitchell seems to have conked out when asked to produce a striker. Stadium - we're still in WHL, you know. Same as when Harry and AVB were here. The youth players - yes, there you have a point. Although that can easily be matched by the glorious first eleven we had back then.

Under Redknapp we had serious depth. That was one of the best Spurs squads seen. You could even argue that it had too many players. It is far riskier what Poch is doing. The squad is thin in one of the most important positions - CF!! I cant even think offhand if the Development/Academy squad striker can even fill in for Kane. Poch's lack of experience in chasing a high league finish is deadly. I am ok with Poch because I recognise he is gaining experience. However to me I would prefer the squad plus another specialist striker.
