Rodrigo Bentancur

7 game ban for something that didn’t happen in this country. Didn’t realise the FA had jurisdiction in South America but good to know. They should be able to ban Partey then given that the alleged offence happened in Spain.

He was technically a Tottenham player at the time as he hadn't reported for international duty yet.

Here's our fixtures until the end of year, based on Rodrigo's availability.

INT: Uruguay vs Colombia - played
INT: Brazil vs Uruguay - can play
PL: City vs Spurs - banned (1)
EL: Spurs vs Roma - can play
PL: Spurs vs Fulham - banned (2)
PL: Bournemouth vs Spurs - banned (3)
PL: Spurs vs Chelsea - banned (4)
EL: Rangers vs Spurs - can play
PL: Saints vs Spurs - banned (5)
CC: Spurs vs United - banned (6)
PL: Spurs vs Pool - banned (7)
PL: Forest vs Spurs - can play
PL: Spurs vs Wolves - can play

Firstly, apparently you're only a racist in the PL and Carabao Cup. You're not a racist in the Europa League or for your country. I mean, how has the FA not worked with FIFA and UEFA to demand that it was a universal ban? That's what the Italian FA did with Paratici to make sure his ban was worldwide. Just this in itself shows what perfection football governance is.

I'm not saying that Rodrigo shouldn't get punished, but triple punishing him - £100k monetary(1), 7 game ban (2) a f2f eduction program(3) - is very harsh compared to other players punishments.

My educated guess here is that Rodrigo will now fall out of love with this country. He'll fly the nest at the first opportunity after what has happened today. It wouldn't surprise me if the links of him moving away start in January.

He's only got one year left after the summer i believe, so almost certainly that will be the case anyway

That they will now be world beaters because they whipped Ireland last night and have a new manager coming in.
Apparently tuchel has been appointed to win the world Cup, I mean hasn't that been every England managers remit?

Oh i see...hmm, yeah perhaps. What was interesting was the drip-drip leaking of the impending punishment last week, "expected to be banned for 7 games" etc..why not just announce it rather than leak and then announce?
My wishful thinking hat was that it was instead going to be 5 games rather than 7 so we/the club would more likely accept it etc

Silly me..

It's definitely no coincidence that they picked Monday 18th Nov. The Monday after an international break.

Bentancur's "crime" was committed in mid June. What took so long?

If they had announced last week, 5 games would have been 2 internationals, 2 PL and 1 EL. It's an absolute farce that it is not a universal ban. If we're kicking out racism in football together, then it should be together.

He denied the charge so they go through a process

You think that is why there could be tension building between Ange and the player? I assume if he had just admitted the charge, he would miss less games.

Either way, this took way too long. lol - the FA would argue it was quite quick though as they don't return for work until mid September :)

If they wanted to kick racism out internationally the World Cup would be interesting if they banned all the countries that ignore it at all levels of their games.

No I don’t there is any tension other that natural friction from management and team mates
We can appeal apparently
