Roberto Soldado

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

So that's now five goals for Soldado in three games.

Not too shabby, is it?

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

Class penalty into the side netting. Had excellent movement as well and will only improve.

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

Thought he looked good, once he settles will certainly be a handful.

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

Really nice to see a striker trying to get in front of the defender and get to the ball first.

Defoe used to do that - not sure why he doesn't any more. The less said about Ade hiding behind defenders the better.

Shabby for the statistician though ;)

i'm hoping to see him get down to £1m a goal in all competitions this season.

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

Really liked the look of him yesterday, good touch, some nice play in the corners, when he got the ball to his feet in the box (think it was the once?) he set up Siggy for what should have been a goal.

With good service he will bag loads.

Oh, and another thing I really liked was shooting before the keeper can set himself - that's a massive advantage.

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

Great, composed, well executed penalty, and lots of good involvement. Soldado looks the real deal - a striker that actually attacks the ball and wants to get in front of the defender. A massive upgrade on Defoe/Ade (although Defoe had a decent ten minutes yesterday) - he will score many goals for us.

Looks a much more complete striker than some gave him credit for.

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

Apparently Jason Burt said on TalkSport last night that we only paid £13m up front for Soldado, and the rest will be made up in add-ons?

I love Daniel Levy :ross:

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

Three goals this season so far, that is fine, but I am a little concerned if he gets injured.

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

I love that it finally feels like we have a real striker; a player that will always be involved in the goals. Feels like he's dependable and will easily score 20+ this season.

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

He does not take a touch inside the box. And they have all been on target.

Yeah I feel that is Defoe's biggest fault, he takes a touch, steadies himself, meanwhile keepers almost on him and he smashes it off his head for a corner

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

He looks like that orthodox goalscorer teams use to have.

The role of a forward has diversified, expanded so much that it's nice to be reminded that the best attribute they can have is sticking the ball in the net....hallelujah
