One thing I was thinking about with this situation is how unless we're pro footballers or a similar calibre of well paid athletic endeavour we can’t really apply our own ideas of work to the situation.
At the minute, Richarlison as a professional footballer is not able to do his job by means of not being registered. Presumably even if he was, RDZ wouldn't pick him due do whatever's been going on. I'm sure for most of us, if we weren't having to do the work we're contracted to do but were still getting paid for it, it wouldn't be an awful situation. But I can't see how either club nor player would've wanted the current state of play. It's not good for anyone. People can say exacerbated by social media posting but it's not like he's come out swinging saying "fudge this club", most fans have said much worse in the last few seasons not that it changes anything.
I just can't get a how solution wasn't worked out, paying the wages with no potential to help out the team whilst we look super light in his position. Marmoush might be a striker in some kind of intricate false 9 situation, and Solanke I wanna believe in but it's just not there for him at the minute. It's not about replacing Kane and Son, plenty of teams finished ahead of us without those players, or of a similar calibre. It's an easy thing to say but even if we had Richy out in the cold but Lankshear was around to seize the opportunity, but no, we needed the pure profit to fund Tonali whose current superstar ability is making Bentancur look top class...And whilst we laugh flapping at an injury crisis, who is out that will make this team suddenly click? Kulu, Madders or Xavi aren't fixing this.
I will miss Richy as supporting him was a fun mini game during a relatively dreadful time as a Spurs fan. I love an underdog but it's not just one player who is an underdog, it's the whole team because we're a new level of bad, an embarassing one given the investment. I'll watch tonight but I'm not really sure why, positivity and belief are at the level you'd expect after the back to back league campaigns.
Back to Richy, without wanting to sound too dramatic, he's not even gone, just lingering around when we evidently would do better to have him than not. There's no closure here, just wasted time, money and what could have been a chance for someone else.
