Genuinely, what a completely ridiculous situation. How is this the club’s fault? We accepted bids from Everton and Vasco, we clearly allowed him to talk to Trabzanspoor. And literally no deal is good enough? He isn’t thinking straight.

It's quite feasible that every clubs offer to him has not been acceptable. He stated HE would be making the decisions. Bit harsh to say he's not thinking straight.

I understand RDZ is wanting only the fully committed BUT it's a strange one with Richie because if you did include him in the squad...he has demonstrated (probably more than most players) that he will give it full commitment/effort every time he crosses that white line. It wouldn't be a wasted squad place unlike Xavi.

The market value is what it is. It seems Richy maybe overvaluing his services which is the reason for the situation he is causing.

We shall indeed see. I think the centre of gravity in the squad is shifting, which is why it’s important new leadership dynamics get formed. Because that reinforces the message being sent from the top.

Put it this way, I don’t think players like Tonali, Fernandes, Van Hecke, Marmoush, Robertson etc are going to give two hoots about Richy’s situation. They are professionals and would not ‘side’ with him over the club. Savio might be more sympathetic, some of the players here last season might also be, but I don’t think Richy has the political capital among the squad to seriously turn anyone away from being fully behind RDZ.

My only hope is that the players have been fully locked in for training for the Everton game, and there hasn’t been a distraction this week. I think it will be ok, and it’s more just frustrating that this all couldn’t have been sorted a couple of weeks ago.

Of course, not saying they will take sides, I am saying it would only take a string of losses for players to look towards the Richy situation etc for it all to add to negative feeling.

At top level PL football it doesn't take much as all for things to sour, not saying they will, just saying it can. The press will play their part, from that side the clubs exposed RDZ IMO
