What a great great night that was…shelf-side…I don't think I fully appreciated the magnitude at the time. You don't when you're 16!

No exaggeration that was a great UEFA cup win, beat some top teams on the way inc. Bayern Munich and Hajduk Split in the semi. Would definitely be worthy of a CL league final win nowdays.

Little did I realise at the time, just how long I would have to wait before I tasted victory against that horrible lot again. I would have celebrated harder.

That Anderton goal - shades of Messr Bale. People forget what a wonderful talent he was.....such a shame that we couldn't make the most of his best years by surrounding him with a half decent team.
