Radu Drăgușin

The weird thing is when we were looking for a new CB we all assumed it would be someone who was good at playing out from the back and composed on the ball. Dragusin, while a good defender, seems to be neither of those things

I’m not sure he is a good defender. He’s not good on the ball either

All of our centre defenders are overrated, non of them are getting into the City, Liverpool or Arsenal teams.

He is a good defender, had you watched him before Spurs? He was very good in Italy and internationally, got many plaudits at the Euros.

Just like any CB for our team, this system is going to make them look like fools frequently - it's the same for Romero who has made many fudge ups. Van de Ven isn't immune either, but his ridiculous pace can often cover up his defensive deficiencies....

Agreed, hung him out to dry after going walkabout again. No wonder van de Venn’s hamstrings worn out having to cover for our wandering RCB all the time.
Romero is too big headed for us. Vdv makes him look good.
Can't wait to see vdv and dragusin. I believe we will be better.

Moments…

…of being solid and of being zhit. Needs a loan. Defo a good player. Needs experience. I think he could mature into a good CB. At 22 he’s overachieving and still settling in.

The system wasn’t the issue today though

Except vdv
I don't think VDV does either right now tbh. He's very good chasing balls down, but the more basic 1on1 defending versus an attacker he's been embarrassed a number of times. He's a young defender and will learn but he's not spotless at this point at all.

VDV is awful in the air
Quite key for those teams

It's more to do with the coaching they are getting.

It's amazing how well they perform for everyone else, come to us, and every game, they brain fart making themseves look as good a Sunday pub team player...

We need a much better defensive coach.

Or maybe the players hits need to do the basics
It’s really poor and simple errors mainly unforced too

The basics should be drilled in training and should never be ignored. I honestly believe it is a coaching problem.

Bales free kicks, came about, becaue he would spend time alone on the training pitch, practicing and practicing, didn;t matter how good he got, he kept on practicing.

Nearly every game, we look as though we haven't even seen a training pitch, let alone taking part in a session.

The coaches are clearly not getting their message across.

Maybe
But the same defender made the same mistakes under conte (Romero) so maybe he just is impossible
We see some many times a repeat of a cross down our left and him being nowhere to deal with it
Every game

I have said that many time that Romero is not as good as people think.

He is prone to switching off far to often, his play from the back is too slow and his distribution is poor... I also think his head has been turned slightly with talk of Madrid...

I see Drag (Who is right sided and played left today) as far better partner for VdV, bother of them are better on the ball than Romero, better vision and distribution, just needs game time and probably a better coach to elevate him.

I just can't see Romero learning anything here, I just don't think he has got what it takes. Defensively, one of the best when he is switched... But it seems he rarely is for the likes of Ipswich.

Can’t say I did. I’m judging him on his time at Spurs where he’s more drag us in to trouble rather than Dragusin.
