Preseason 2018

Amos has been great this pre-season, Skipp exciting and Eyoma was, for me, a massive surprise. Have never seen him before and he looked very, very composed.

Reading Pochs comments this morning looks like he’s seriously considering playing Amos against Saudi Sportswashing Machine...

I assumed we lost to Barca - What’s the point of having a penalty shoot out if the match is still given as a draw?

It's the American "hockey" way of doing things. In the NHL, a match goes into sudden death overtime if there's a draw after 3 periods - the team that wins the OT gets 2 points, the loser 1 point. Works well in hockey!

Yeah I see that now, assumed because we got a point it was given as a draw. I like a format of someone winning despite a draw....

Its the American way, i played in the States ( football) in the early 80's and then ( i am not sure if they still do) there was no games that ended in a draw. We had shoot outs, running from the half way line with the ball and having to score in a set time, they also had a ref in each half in was madness. And that does not include the players coming out before the game on Elephants wearing the sponsors logo, marching bands, pom pom girls the lot.

Good money though. :)

Haha, it's the American way, indeed. The Vegas Golden Knights pre-match show in their Stanley Cup run (especially in the final) was ridiculously extravagant, but it seems like a lot of American sports fans like that sort of stuff.

Went to see Ardiles play at Ft Lauderdale took me about 3 hours to get there and he wasnt playing, no atmosphere at game.

So if Real Madrid hold or beat Juve, and Chelsea draw with Woolwich, and Inter don't win their next two with high GD, we are guaranteed winners.

Have really enjoyed all the performances at the International Champions Cup, especially by the youngsters such as Kyle Walker-Peters, Eyoma, Georgiou, Marsh, Amos, Skipp. Also, the two goals from GKN - last night's being a bit special.

I also want to give much respect to Davison Sanchez who we must remember has just turned 22 years, for his captaining and marshalling of all the youngsters around him. He was superb, a future captain!

It's all lovely jubbly!
