Not particularly if it was part of the school curriculum or children's organisations were sending kids towards it I would have concerns. Currently it's up to kids to join as a responsible parent I wouldn't let my kids join until I have checked it out. 3 councils out of what 300 doesn't sound very Soviet communist playbook to me Have the Labor Government come out & endorsed this.

Just to clarify I think stuff related to fascism & neo Nazis should be taught in schools not on websites. Both my kids learnt about fascism during WWII History classes & visiting the Sydney Jewish museum far more impactful than a website. If that doesn't steer you clear of fascism nothing will

Fascism isn't just a historic thing. It's alive and well in the governing parties of America and Israel at the moment, and in the preachings of Tommy Robinson and co here. It needs up-to-date contextualising to shine light on its modern incarnations.

More personal and derogatory language. I think you need to have a look in the mirror as to who seems "low IQ" in terms of an inability to have views challenged without coming back with swearing, personal attacks and derogatory digs.

Your name is silly and you post low IQ takes. None of it is personal. It's pretty objective about how effin unhinged your posts are and how often you lie on here. You make zero sense. And you clearly use some sort of AI to help you type your really long posts devoid of any reasoned argument.

Potential ban of under 16 ban on social media, one for people to lose their sh1t over but likely one in which is needed.

If you look at how adults are using the platforms it only stands to reason that kids need protecting from it.

Maybe governments are overstepping into parenting but given the number of parents there must be spouting utter nonsense online, racism, noncery etc then maybe thats for the best

Its interesting that the coalition pushing for this are the Tory party and the teaching unions - not normally natural bedfellows.

Its a very good idea anyway. I think social media and plastic in food are the two great new harms to humanity of this century (corporate greed, environmental destruction and social injustice we inherited from the previous one)

Which corelates to the pitfalls of under 16s being exposed to sh1t on platforms like X how? That's right, it doesn't, nice try though

In the same way @Gutter Boy avoidance of plastic food doesn't mean he starves himself to death I imagine
Plenty of brick here just look at your post history.

Gutterboy and Luton were telling us England isn’t real the other day.

This thread is a bin fire.

Oh hello small angry person who posts little snide insults and runs off for a few weeks.

You were offended by Graffiti recently. And the word snowflake. You might want to wind your little neck in. X

Watch @johnola run off now. He's a reform supporting, graffiti hating, pro Israel, and generally unpleasant poster who dips in and tries to back up the other people who have constantly made themselves look stupid and racist on here.

And not long ago he accused me of finding reasons to draw him in to arguments.

You are a slightly less BS version of SillyMcSilly lad.

And yet here you both are on social media.

I think there's a huge difference between the aggressively addictive and actively rage baiting algorithms that drive the type of platforms that are being banned. Compared to the quite neutral platforms like this, where the only thing that is addictive is (occasionally) the repartee

I'm curious what happens next in Iran. I wonder if the Kurdish forces might come over the border from Iraq to get some arms to the opposition? The Kurds aren't separatists in an Iran context, but are the most organised anti-ayatollah group in the region. They could tip things, like Ahmed al-Sharaa's force did in Syria
