Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Nothing scratches the sides without pensions, that's my point

I'm not actually against pensions. I just don't like when people are all 'benefits scum', but then seem to discount pensions for some illogical reason

I'd actually give pensions to every person in the country (half for children). Its UBI, and is the only way our society will continue to function

There is a massive difference between people who've worked their whole life and paid contributions getting a pension, people who are between jobs and need benefits to tide them over and idle fudgers who never worked a day in their life and never plan to with nothing physically stopping them. Unfortunately we have far too many of the third category.

What makes you think everyone over 67 worked hard their whole lives? The same proportion will be as undeserving of their pension as the working-age people are of their job seekers. Should we perhaps cut the benefits bill but taking it all away from the work-shy in their youth third of pensioners?

I want to like this but I can't because of what I think is a typo at the end. So it's a wary like.
Not all pensioners deserve the pension, some because they are chancers and some because they don't need it. I don't believe you should get a benefit just because you are entitled to it.
I do believe it should be easier to claim a benefit you are entitled to, many people don't because they are either unaware of it or not clued up enough about the system and how it works.

There always has been and there very probably always will be those who know how to game the system.
It's a pity that it's almost become socially acceptable to game the system.

You can't force pensioners to work. You can youth.
