Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

No he does not. That's just what you think is better. He is allowed to hold pulbic servants to account. So is anyone. You can't micro manage that in a democracy.
He is allowed to what he wants, but as he ackowledges himself, on this he f*cked up. The majority of the public IMO will feel there was nothing to hold to account and attempting to do so will put them off voting Green in the same way many were put off Corbyn. It is the feeling that they are not always on the right side of prioritising the safety of the British public.

Thanks. It seems to me that there are a few people on here that like to belittle others when they have different opinions to them.

Why stay out of the debate @Rafa87?

I think it’s difficult here sometimes because people are typing, if you could hear voices and have a conversation I think we would all realise that usually we don’t always mean to come across the way we can sometimes.

I tend to stay out because on topics like this one, with my work history I find it hard to not show a bit of bias and I’m aware of that. I’m getting better with it, to the point that previously this would have completely soured me on Polanski, now I just think it’s fair to make comment on police actions, but don’t do it immediately after a terror attack when the two officers involved have been through something traumatic and are potentially (most likely) dealing with some thoughts of “there’s a good chance that if it went slightly differently I might not have made it home the other day”. As someone else suggested, contact the chief, raise your concerns privately first, then go from there.

Making rich people pay some tax? Focusing on society and community, rather than fluffing corporate oligarchs? The terror!
Oh go on then, I’ll bite….

Who do you term as ‘rich people’, what tax would you get them to pay and what sort of impact do you think that would have on the overall tax take of the UK?

Sorry I must’ve misinterpreted this from you…. “There is a debate about police beating someone up for the sake of it when they could have just arrested the incapacitated psycho.”

Deary me. I do not view the arrest as just beating someone up for the sake of it. I view it as a psycho being arrested. I don't even care about the head kicks personally. However the debate is about whether the head kicks were excessive and not needed. Having seen the new angles it's fair enough but still people can see that and have a view. It's people like yourself who want to stifle the debate. Nobody thinks the arrest was just cops beating him up for the sake of it. That's your imagination.

Just to point out, this wasn't a terror attack. He had a stabbed a Muslim earlier in the day and has been charged with 3 counts of attempted murder.

I’ve not actually watched the news since it all broke, enough misery in the worlds currently without engrossing myself too much. I noticed when it was first reported they had designated it a terror attack, have they reeled all that back now after further investigation then?

I assume so as the charges are not terrorism

Put Capital Gains on the same rate as Income Tax

Merge NI into Income Tax

Replace Council Tax and Business Rates with a Land Value Tax

And Rent Caps

Combined that would shift the tax burden away from worker and onto the parasite class

This idea has been made a utopian fantasy by the parasite class. Social justice means they can't horde wealth and land for no reason other than total selfishness.

Polanski is completely out of his depth leading a political party. Listen to his interview on The Rest is Politics Leading to hear that he doesn’t understand the basics of the economy or government.

There was an interview on Sky News last night with a policeman stabbed in the back of the head a few years ago by the same person being held for the Golders Green stabbings.

He described how on that occasion the man was still attacking when he had a police dog and three men attempting to hold him down (an attack for which he served half of a nine year sentence). The policeman had to be medically retired after the incident and was shaking as he recounted the events to the journalist yesterday.

Easy to say the police overreacted when sitting at home, well away from the unfolding aftermath of two stabbings on the streets of London, and also safe in the knowledge that he wasn’t wearing some sort of explosive device.
Fair enough, the kicks to the head seemed excessive to me no more no less, granted I havent been in that scenario.

Couldn't agree more. Gets far more 'testy' on this thread and certain posters tend to gang up on someone with a difference of opinion with more aggressive language used than on other threads.

I suspect why a lot of people avoid this thread in comparison to others....

TBF the same could be said about the football threads. Plenty of belittling and name calling there too
