Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Honestly I’m not inbred or something like that so Can you please stop with the put downs it’s really hurting my feelings.

I’m stupid one of course for not believing in some very comedic stuff

You thought saying taqiyaa was a gotcha and then you did another racist trope about inbreds. you keep exposing yourself

Oh I do. But for the propose of the initial discussion about Tommy Robinson etc … oh forget it. Either your parents are related or you are not that intelligent. Either way, have a nice day.

And the racism again. Wow. Are you cracking kiddo? maybe take a breather. Your deep hatred of Pakistanis is evident now.

lol how is that racist I just don’t think you are that intelligent. I know some brilliant lovely Pakistani people so I don’t know why you are playing the victim when you are not.

I take that back it wasn’t meant like that. I’m sure it’s not a problem in the Pakistani community. For that I apologise.

You showed your true colours with the taqiyya trope. That has only ever been used by the racists i have met. And the cousin marriage trope is a favourite of indians who hate us too. You have proven yourself.

And it is a problem in the Pak community and you know that. Implying it is an issue for me is the racism. You cannot even apoligise without hating on Pakistanis. Were you bullied by a Pakistani at some point? Did your girlfriend leave you for one? What is the bloody issue?

No I genuinely didn’t know and I apologised immediately. But the taqqiya thing is when you are allowed to lie. You called me a liar so I threw one back at you. Called me a snowflake ironically. Don’t like it when the shoe is on the other foot do you?

But no none of the above, like I said I know many Pakistanis. I’ve dated a few in my time also. No issue we started offf with Tommy Robinson and here we go. I’ll leave it at that. You enjoy your Sunday as I have kept saying.

If you know Pakistanis and know about taqiyya you know this. Lying because you are a racist internet coward is fine. Its your taqiyya. And you would never speak like this to Pakistani lds faces as they would give you a hiding you little internet warrior.

Jeez enough of the intimidation. Especially from peaceful people.

Frinton actually, nobody with money would buy a house in Clacton

Fair point. 😀

Just to make a small point, which I’m sure will be ignored, but the snobbery actually really irritates me.

I live in Clacton. I was born here, I moved back here (using my own money cheers Marky) and bought a property so that I can look after my elderly parents who it made sense to be closer to. I did so after a few years living closer to London for work.

There’s this idea online that everyone in Clacton is some idiot, scumbag who couldn’t possibly live in the, I’m sure, absolutely perfect areas people making these type of comments reside in.

Around me, I’m mostly surrounded by people of retirement age and older who fancy living out the rest of their lives by the sea, or, first time buyers who take advantage of being able to get on the housing ladder with property here being cheaper due to it being a seaside town. Since I’ve been back, I’ve had no issues, there are people here who aren’t the worlds best, but believe me, those sort of people live in your areas too.

What we do have is a rather large community of people who still believe in old fashioned community - a school uniform shop where you can donate the stuff your kid grows out of so people who can’t always afford new bits can pop in and get some help. For work, I drop into numerous support groups for various health conditions and keep them running and look for funding options, I work with the local volunteer service who help people with disabilities find employment by working on their CV’s and interview techniques with them. There are so many little family run businesses here that are still here from when I was a kid.

However since Nigel arrived and conned a lot of the town into thinking he cared about them, all I see online is that we’re all racist, we’re all idiots and the town isn’t worth anything. Whether that be from locals in Frinton who fought for years to not have a chip shop inside the gates in case it “lowered the level of the town” or people from across the UK who have never even been here.

Not everyone voted, and not everyone who did vote, went with Reform. The idea that Farage and his millionaire mates give a toss about me, or indeed any of you is insane. They’re grifters, and their only aim is to sew division and make you think it’s migrants underfunding your services, cutting your police, raising your energy bills, and making your weekly shop more expensive, because if youre blaming the migrants, you aren’t looking at Nige and co. (For what it’s worth, I don’t feel I belong to any political party, I couldn’t name a single party currently who I think genuinely have the best interests of the general British public at heart).

I absolutely hate where this world is headed currently, say you are happy for people to claim asylum? You must be a “lefty”, raise your countries flag? You must be “far right”. When did people stop being able to have any nuance of thought and be able to explain that actually a bit of a, and a bit of b is where you’re sat, and you don’t entirely agree with either side.

I apologise, you two I’m sure were making a bit of a light hearted jibe at a town, but this is about the 20th time today (and what feels like the 1000th time recently) I’ve read something slating the town I live in that I happen to know truly. It’s starting to grate.

My parents and pals still live there and I spend a lot of the summer there, was on the Pier yesterday

Good, and so you know the nonsense we’re up against when other people talk about the town. Don’t add to it!

Will happily clink a beer glass with a fellow Spur, but let’s not brick talk our town when we have enough people doing it for us.

You are right and I apologise for making fun of where you live as obviously not everyone is the same. It was intended as a light jibe but a good lesson in thinking about what I post before posting it.

Edit to add I live in Essex so understand the stereotyping. I ought to have known better.

Peaceful people meaning Muslims lol. You can't stop the tropes can you?

And I am not trying to intimidate you. I think you are lying and I know you are racist towards Pakistanis and have a problem with Muslims it seems. All of this is evident if you read you stuff you posted.

I think this is why many people are marching, we are getting screwed left right and centre then have to swallow the pill of seeing illegals getting put up in hotels, spending money, what looks like good food and a free ride in general. It’s infuriating how this country is being run.
You see I don't really understand this paragraph. How are we, the general population being screwed?

While I do think we need to control the numbers coming in, we also need to challenge some of these narratives particularly the one in the statement I've quoted.

My parents are first generation immigrants. My dad, in particular, escaped abject poverty, living in a wooden shack which could get badly damaged when the hurricanes came, having to protect their food and clothing from rats and c0ckroaches. He came to England to train and work with not a penny to his name. He and mum since separated, both own their own homes as do both their kids. They demonstrate what can you can achieve in this country through hard work, even when you start with nothing. And their story is not unique.

Don't get me wrong, we have problems in this country but we also have an education system that is the envy of the world, a free at point of care health system, political stability and freedoms to basically live our lives as we want, vibrant cities that attract millions of tourists and incredible natural beauty. If you work hard and want to you can live a decent life here. It's why I love this country. Yeah we are going through some tough times but so are the rest of the fudging world and we are more shielded than most.

Now compare with Sudan, where this a raging civil war, or Somalia which is ravaged by drought and political instability and/or terrorism or Afghanistan where girls struggle to get an education. Do you wonder why people are running from those countries?

Clearly we can't accept everyone and anyone who does come here and becomes a citizen needs to ensure that they respect our laws and culture.

I looked up the meaning of Patriot - Someone who is willing to fight for or uphold their country's interests and values. I consider myself a "patriot." I love my country and served it as a Police officer and now work for a local authority. I can see how people can get on.

But I'll tell you who are not Patriots, the likes of Farage, Robinson and Hopkins who keep talking this country down, telling us how terrible everything is. Or the cretins who think it is ok to deface British landmarks with red crosses attack police officers or set fire to people in hotels.. Patriots are people who defend all British communities irrespective of race, religion or origin.

What we are witnessing at the moment is not patriotism IMHO, it's ugly nationalism being driven by people who want power to spread their toxic agenda. This is why I believe we need to push back and not accept their poisonous rhetoric.

Honestly it’s fine, let’s be fair, we all do it myself included when we joke about rivals such as West Ham!

Not been here long, but you’re a good poster! It’s just been a day of reading it today 😆🙈

Edited my post as you were replying to say I live in Essex (although not indigenous to the county) so I understand the stereotyping.
