People who are late...

And me. Absolutely hate tardiness. No need for it & it is just rude, pure & simple.

I used to be a bit more forgiving when i was younger but i will not tolerate it now.

As Leeds would say, C**NTS!
 
As someone who tends to be annoyingly early to things it does get to me.

If I need to be somewhere soon a get a bit twitchy and worried so I end up going there early, so if I end up there 8 or so minutes before the pre-arranged time and the other person is 10 minutes late then I've been there for fudging ages. Obviously it's my fault for being early though.

It's the people who turn up to things really really late and act like nothings up when you get there, acting like the Fonz.

Or the people who are consistently late to everything and half of the words from their mouth are apologies for their lateness, if they were actually sorry, they wouldn't be late in the first place. tinkles me off so much! Obviously sometimes there'll be a valid excuse but on the whole it's just selfishness.
 
My 4 best mates are all like this... And i can be too. We're always moaning bout it to each otger about each other lol but will never change
 
I think it does leave a bad impression in business circles.

That said, I am regularly early for meetings, say 10-15 mins. I don't expect my client to come to reception as I'm the one who is early. But the receptionist will call them and let them know i'm there. No even given this, and the fact they have been informed, lots are STILL fudging LATE!!! One kept me waiting for 30 mins the other day, I was seriously considering doing one. But i'd driven 120 miles so thought better of it.

Very very rude, some people take the tinkle when they know they have the power in a situation as supplier/clients.
 
To a lot of gatherings/meetings/lectures etc I'm just on time or slightly late a lot of the time - one thing that I've been trying to correct for the last few months as it will be an unwanted habit once I get into full-time paid work. Stuff which is very important (such as interviews etc), I'm always on time considering the importance.

But yea, I'm not as bad as some of my mates who will arrive to a specific pub 20 minutes late on a night out.
 
I, myself, tend to be early for most things. Just because i wish to be 'on the safe side'. So, sometimes i left hanging about for ages. Longest i've ever had to wait was an hour... Albeit, when we planned it, she said there is a chance it would happen, so i looked the other way.... It can be a real gripe though...
 
As I've gotten older, fatter and become a parent, I've definitley become far more punctual. I think it's not to do with being more responsible but more to do with not caring about my appearence before I leave the house :D
 
One of may mates is late for everything. I've lost count of the amount of hours he's kept me waiting over the years. When we go to the cinema for example, he'll get there after the film has meant to have started, even though he lives less than 5 minutes from the cinema. As other have said, it's rude and impolite. I make an effort to be on time, it really isn't that difficult. Some people have no concept of time, others just don't care.
 
Im always at least 20 minutes early to everything. Except when i go to WHL where i arrive at half 1 for a 3pm kick off...wtf
 
I dont mind people being late to a party etc but if im meeting someone on a one on one basis - then fudgein turn up.

I despise lateness in business also. I have clients I turn up I never cancel meetings I never come ill prepared - however clients seem to think they can do ALL those things - ****s.

This is the one I never understood: people that are late to SHOWS. Not only do you make the person waiting for you look like an idiot ("Sorry, this seat is taken... I know I've had my jacket there for over 30 minutes, but I'm saving this seat!!!"), but you paid money to see a movie, why not get your dollar's worth?
But then there are people who are late to sports events or operas/ballets. It's not like seeing these events is cheap.

One of my college friends would always take his sweet time when it came to doing anything. Going to the deli down the street became an ordeal because he would pick up his guitar, browse the internet, or let his ADD wander in countless other ways before even thinking about putting shoes on. I'm convinced that these people only see the world around them as an extension of themselves.
Another friend was late to a party she was throwing. It's totally fine to be 'fashionably late' to a party you're attending, but she was the host for crying out loud.

Also, when my ex-gf was late with her period. WTF!?!? That's the worst!

Leaving one offs out of the equation I take the simplistic view that someone who is constantly late thinks that their time is important than mine.
 
I think everyone has a late mate, I had a mate who would give me a call ten minutes before we were meant to be at the football, telling me that he needed a lift and he lived ten minutes away from me! Used to tinkle me off massively. In the end, I told him that he had to get a train as I wasn't going to be late for him!

Occasionally, I'll get a text from him saying that he is running late and he will arrive at a certain time, which I actually appreciate, but then he'll be an extra 10 or 15 minutes late on top of that. I've considered walking off and going home many times after being kept waiting. One time we were supposed to meet at the cinema again, he was 15 minutes late, then I see him strolling into Mcdonalds, so I call him "What are you doing?" I ask him, "Oh I'm just getting some food" so that means i'm standing there on my jack jones even longer looking like a taco. I suppose his mindset is well whats another couple of minutes?

You'll notice that most people who are always late always seem to have an excuse, or they'll blame someone else, it's never their fault.
 
No excuse for it. It's lazy, disrespectful, selfish, cretinous behaviour.

If I'm meeting mates, I'll be 15 mins early. If I'm meeting a prospect, more like 30 mins.

I've had that before too, when mate said he was just around the corner and he then says he is grabbing some food on the way through. I would have already eaten as I didn't want to be late.

Whenever I used to go watch a film at cinema with him, he was always late too. I was always worried that he would get there after the film started showing but debating about whether to go ahead in to watch myself anyhows. I did that a few times at least.

Plus another annoying thing, when you're waiting on a mate turning up... people's immediate reaction is that you got stood up by a date, this is especially true when walking and waiting at the cinema. So you are made to look stupid when it was the mate that fudged up, not yourself.

Yeah exactly. It's fine if your waiting at football, but if your going to the cinema, some people will assume your meeting a bird.

We'll always agree what time were meeting, so recently I've started turning up later than we had arranged, but I still beat him there every time.
