Sorry, it was a silly tangential point from me. Adam took out Modric, but Modric came back stronger and is now the best player at the best team in the world.
Whereas Paulinho shrank back and cowered from challenges. I cannot believe this guy is now at Barca, of all the choices they had. And also playing well for Brazil again... I was so happy when we got Sandro and then Paulinho, two Brazilian international midfielders... and Gilberto... we did not pick the right Brazilians!
 
He wasn't too bad for us the first season, but he just chickened out and didn't put the effort in in the second season. No wonder we sold him when we did.

Playing in a far better team that other teams are not permitted to tackle at the top of thier league helps a smidgeon.
