Tottenham are set to complete the signing of Brazil midfielder Paulinho next week for a fee of around £17m.
The 24-year-old revealed last weekend that Spurs had made an official bid for him but he would not decide his future until after the Confederations Cup.

Real Madrid have also shown interest in the Corinthians player, but he is now expected to move to White Hart Lane.
Speaking after Brazil's 4-2 win over Italy, he said: "There is an official offer from Tottenham to Corinthians."

Paulinho did not play in Saturday's match having sustained an ankle injury.

But he marked his return to action on Wednesday by scoring the winner against Uruguay, which booked Brazil's place in Sunday's Confederations Cup final.
Asked when his club future would be resolved, he said: "I will only do it after the Confederations Cup because it's hard to deal with all these things.

"But, as I did when there was an Inter Milan offer, I'll sit and decide with my family before I make any decision."

Paulinho has played 16 times for Brazil and scored five times, including a goal in their 3-0 Confederations Cup win against Japan last week.

The timing of the BBC article is odd. They have stayed quiet on the whole thing, then write this with no new information, only week-old quotes.

And a very interesting (and encouraging) quote from him:

"I received two offers from Inter Milan. I decided to stay because it wasn’t the right moment to go. The financial side was very good but I always place my career ahead of the money. Time will tell when it will be the right moment."

He probably believes he will get more playing time at Spurs than at Real or Chelski (and he will), which in light of this quote is good for us. So maybe we actually will sign him. Now I am more positive.

"As mentioned previously, Paulinho is a very typical box-to-box midfielder. As comes with the territory, he has a penchant for surging runs from deep and supporting the attackers ahead of him. However, that does mean he needs to be paired with a defensive midfielder to bring out his full potential."

That doesn't mean that he can't play alongside someone more attacking. I also think you're forgetting that Dembele is very good defensively.
 
I wonder how AVB will compose the midfield three if he signs. Reading from that article it would seem that Sandro would lie behind him and Dembele, something like
