Other Clubs Transfer Thread

Buy back option = another way of loaning out players?

Kinda, but I see it more as the big clubs making sure that they're first in line if a talented player they sell ends up fulfilling his potential.

With the squad sizes and player hoarding at the superclubs it's really tough for even very talented youngsters to get regular football, so they end up getting sold. Buyback clauses are like an insurance policy against making bad decisions when choosing to sell players.

I think Sociedad have screwed themselves a bit with that fee though. Looking at some of the players bought back by Real and Barca the fees have been significantly larger.

Wonder if Arsenal think he's good enough to be a first choice player for them, good enough to be an important squad player or if they just think this fee is a lot smaller than his market value and are looking to make some money.

Stoke City have announced the double signing of Mame Biram Diouf and Dionatan Teixeira.

Chelsea Football Club and FC Cologne have agreed a season-long loan for Tomas Kalas which will begin on 1 July.

Chelsea will no doubt spend £150m again this year and get away with it.....

THey are going to be massively dangerous, so much for him going back to AFC

Fabregas said:
Firstly I would like to thank everyone at FC Barcelona where I enjoyed three wonderful years.

It was my childhood club and I will always be proud and honoured that I had a chance to play for such a great team.

I do feel that I have unfinished business in the Premier League and now is the right time for my return.

Yes, everyone knows that Arsenal had the first option to sign me. They decided not to take up this option and therefore it wasn't meant to be. I wish them well in the future.

I considered all the other offers very carefully and I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice. They match my footballing ambitions with their hunger and desire to win trophies.

They have an amazing squad of players and an incredible manager. I am fully committed to this team and I can't wait to start playing.

It was extremely important to me that this transfer was completed before the World Cup so that my mind will only be focused on hopefully helping my country try to retain the trophy.

They're getting 50 million for Luiz, which should almost cover Fabregas and Costa.

That deal just has to be dodgy somehow.... Why on earth would PSG pay so much for Luiz?... Should UEFA start looking into whether PSG are signing any additional sponsorship deals... perhaps with Russian companies?

I find it strange that Arsenal didn't take up their option....

Fabregas would be an upgrade on Arteta, Flamini or Wheelchair and on last season's evidence gives a lot more to the cause than Ozil does (especially when the chips are down). He also fits in perfectly with Wenger's style of play and is proven to do so from his first spell at the club. The transfer fee that Chelsea have paid also seems to be a sensible one and Arsenal clearly have the funds to pay the wages for a player like Fabregas. The fact that Fabregas has been to Barca and been bombed out would also indicate that if Arsenal had signed him then they could've had him at the club for many years to come.

I find it very strange that Wenger didn't want him. Is it sour grapes after Fabregas leaving them 3 years ago perhaps?
