Are you implying that Dembele might think Carroll is not good enough to replace him? He gave the ball to Bale for the winner plus the club seems to have a happy squad so my guess would be Dembele doesn't see who replaces him as a diss.

I think it's more that Dembele had to come off as a precaution, rather than AVB thinking Carroll was the key to winning the game. Not saying AVB doesn't have any faith in him though.

Nolan's toe confirmed as broken and probably out for the rest of the season. A shame Wham only need two more wins to be safe.

You're talking about Dembele being on a yellow right?

I agree that Dembele probably wouldn't have been taken off if not for that yellow card, but AVB had several other options available to him other than Carroll if he wanted to replace Dembele. He could obviously have put on the more experienced (and physically stronger) Livermore instead. He could also have put Sig on instead of Dembele and kept Holtby on the pitch, moving him into Dembele's role.

It still shows confidence in young Carroll...
