--OMT-- TOTTENHAM vs Notlob

Ha ha Keegan on ESPN just said how Harry moved the whole midfield around against Everton by putting Modric left and Bale right, whereas he could have just moved one player to account for Lennon's absence but he moved 3

I thought we were all right and Harry was wrong, but since Keegan agrees with us, maybe we were wrong after all, the guys a twit :)

I'm happy if we play Bale - Mod - Parker - VdV today, but since last week anything is possible - maybe Harry will jazz it around and do something we haven't yet thought of like Bale right, a wonky diamond with gold inlay, a Christmas Tree with Saha on top wearing an angel outfit?

Hmm were slowly turning in to old boys fc. Nelsen and Gallas at the back? Parker and Friedel? Reasonably short term stuff that. I know it's not all about tomorrow and you have to compete today, but jesus. With King like he is as well, Adebayor on loan etc.

Get the wrong manager next year or miss out on Champs League and Bale or Modric start making noises..... got a bit of a house of cards feel about it.

I'd have definitely played Livermore or Sandro instead of Parker. His limited passing is starting to do my head in.

And is a big factor as to why we've done so well this season. Focus not on his passing but his MOVEMENT and also the speed of passing.

Anyone got a pub near them showing this? Just walked into my regular sports bar in Southampton , 5 o'clock KO + England-Ireland rugby + st Patrick's day = going back home for illegal streaming :(

I see what your saying and his qualities (of which there are loads), but at the moment i'd just like to try and get some fluidity into the team and more momentum and structure moving forwards. I find his movement a bit brick actually (not in a defensive sense of course), and the constant one twos in the direction he's facing, putting the reciepient under pressure is driving me mad.

His movement is fantastic. He holds position better, allowing Modric to roam, but is ALWAYS available as the get out pass. If we have the ball in midfield he is usually the closest player to receive the ball. That's invaluable. Livermore is just plain out of his depth. Sandro isn't a good a footballer as Parker.

1) Do you know he is definitely fully fit for today?
2) How do you know he won't play against Chelsea AND Stoke?
3) With King's injury record, Kaboul's brickness surely it makes sense to start giving Gallas games?

1) Ok, I confess I don't know if he's fit for this, was nothing on the OS from Harry though.
2) Because he's a fricking cripple? How can he play Wednesday night and then Saturday morning?
3) The two aren't mutually exclusive ... you play two centre backs you know?

The problem you lot have his the Harry disease, i.e. you can only think about the next game, everything is short term and not looking at the bigger picture. We have games coming up thick and fast, important games, you need to plan strategically. Parker looks dead on his feet, he hasn't been at his best, so why he's now playing 3 on the spin I have no idea. VDV who struggles enough with injuries as it is, is now expected to play three on the spin(I assume so anyway, unless Harry goes with the glorious 442 again), but not only is he playing today, he's not even playing in his rightful position.

Parker receives the ball three yards away from the player in possesion andplays a poor first time pass straight back. I dont really see the value. He isn't capable of turning and heading off in a different directon.

We'll see. I'm not doubting his defensive qualities, but in my opinion he'S counter productive on the ball.

Happy with the team, a little worried about Nelsen and Gallas in centreback together, considering their lack of playing time over the past months but good to see such an attacking line up.

Well that's just fudging stupid. So instead of King playing two games(Bolton and Chelsea) he'll play just the one against Stoke, alongside two other centre backs when we're short in that position already. Gallas just returning from a long injury to play all three games, makes sense.

It not saying its a good decision.
But why else would he not play King? He wants him for Stoke. It will be Kaboul, King and Nelson against Stoke. Gallas isnt suited to playing Stoke hopefully he will at least see that.

Speed of passing? Have you watched us at all this season?

See how many times Parker spins in circles slowing down a break today, or gives the ball 3 yards to a defender in front of him rather than look around for a useful pass.

King has, at a stretch, played 2 games in 4/5 days before. We know this is a possibility, even if small. He cannot play 3 games in 7/8 days.
