--OMT-- TOTTENHAM vs Notlob

I want to know why Parker is playing and King is not? I'm not particularly thrilled to see VDV on the right either and think Benny could've been rested here.

Because King is held together with blu tac and spit, whereas I have it on good authority that Scott Parker can run through brick walls

Sorry Rossi but youre nitpicking here.

Why can Sandro not play against Stoke? I would rather Sandro than Parker against Stoke simply because Sandro adds height in the box.

We want to win this cup so we play our best players and best team. Parker is first choice therefore he plays. Last week moaners on here moaned about not playing VDV on the right and the whole make up of the midfield was spoilt. Now he plays VDV on the right, Modric in middle with Bale on left and people still moan.

I dont get it.

You think Sandro will start on Wednesday? AHEAD of Parker? Give me a break.

VDV on the right is a personal preference, I don't like it, Niko should be there. No doubt we'll get to halftime and this place will be full of VDV bashing.

Would rather have Kranky wide right and VDV up top personally, but the rest of the team picks itself I guess.

Quite right. Again VDV not in right position. not enough width and a very unbalanced right side - does Harry not learn from his mistakes. Why isnt Kranchie or Dos santos in to give us the balance?

Not a good feeling - especially with the centre back pairing.

He played on the right against Saudi Sportswashing Machine (5-0). At Anfield (0-0), Liverpool home first half (4-0), Arsenal a first half (2-2). Niko hasn't done badly there at all.

Mate I'm sorry but how much running did he do against Saudi Sportswashing Machine? It was all Ade on the right. He doesn't do a conventional right wingers job does he? He don't take on his man and whip balls in. No he tucks in field and Walker will bomb up the wing. Sorry but those results weren't down to NK on the right Wing.

This won't be 4-4-2 if VDV is on the right.

Its a wonky 442. The way teams have played in England from the 70s right through to the 90s. 2 central midfielders, 1 out and out winger and 1 wide player that tucks in to the centre if needed. Add in a big man small man striker partnership and its a traditional english 442.

That first point makes no sense, we play Stoke wednesday night and Chelsea saturday morning, so regardless of this game he can only play one of those anyway.

As for Parker, not only is he struggling at the moment but now we're going to play him 3 times in 7 days when Sandro or Livermore could quite easily have played today.

Livermore isn't of the required standard. Sandro isn't as good as Parker and has been poorer than Parker. So still not sure of your point.

Well done Diego for pointing this out. Krachie has been part of some of our most inspiring displays - plus last season he scored some crucial goals. Put VDV in a role behind the lone striker and let us play free flowing football again

Its inevitable now that he's gonna go 352 against Stoke. He's saving King for it.

Because Parker is old and needs his rest. Just look at him, 25 minutes into a game and he's on his knees. But sure, play him every day, just like we did last season, it's not like we collapsed from being exhausted around this time of the season or anything ...

Scored a goal and was jonny on the spot. created space. Played a beautiful ball for Bale at Liverpool who should have scored. many many examples of Kranchies positive play

No I dont think he will but I think Parker is better than Sandro so I would have played Parker anyways. Maybe Sandro isnt 100% fit? Besides not sure why you are surprised i mean a)would you have been bothered that Parker started today if this was another league game and not FA Cup? and b) Parker has been first choice all season.

As for VDV on the right - id have played him on the right and like I said most people on last saturday night wanted VDV on the right - they got their wish. I wouldnt have played Niko, I dont rate him at all and id get rid asap. Niko is just as ill disciplined as VDV in my opinion.

Well that's just fudging stupid. So instead of King playing two games(Bolton and Chelsea) he'll play just the one against Stoke, alongside two other centre backs when we're short in that position already. Gallas just returning from a long injury to play all three games, makes sense.

He is still the best option. Dos Santos isn't good enough by a long way. VDV needs to play up top (he is wasted in RM) and Bale needs to stay left.

Unfortunately, this is true. I believe Redknapp made a mistake by not getting a capable replacement for if Lennon got injured. You can argue no one was available but anyone would have done for 5 months.

Parker isn't that old and has amazing stamina. He'll be fine. I'd expect any pro player to be able to play 50 matches a season without ill effects. Thanks to resting players in the Europa and getting ditched out of the League Cup early, there isn't much danger of many of our players hitting that mark.

He doesn't need to do the "conventional" right wingers job.Remember the season we finished 4th?We haven't had a "conventional" left winger for the first 33-34 games of the season and we did just fine. What Kranjcar offers is great posession in the midfield, goal threat and being able to pick a great killer pass just like he did against Liverpool at Anfield.

The only difference between VdV and Kranjcar at RM is that by now Kranjcar is more accustomed in that role and stays on that side alot more where in VdV doesn't give a fudge and wonders off all over the pitch, what sometimes isn't bad but may cost us defensively.

I agree. And the two players who could play there (Bentley & Pienaar) aren't available to us. Very strange.

Yep your right but tell me how many times he's played a neat 1-2 and taken on his man and whipped in a cross? Not knocking him its not his best position, nor VDVs either, just pointing out that I don't consider him to be any use at all on the right.

1) Do you know he is definitely fully fit for today?
2) How do you know he won't play against Chelsea AND Stoke?
3) With King's injury record, Kaboul's brickness surely it makes sense to start giving Gallas games?
