Agree. The starting team yesterday was bonkers, five centre backs ffs. I appreciate that JM may have trying to keep players fresh for Leipzig, but we probably would have won that game if Gio and Lucas had started.
But thy may have got injured for united and West Ham

What are you gonna' do? Managers have to take risks, Klopp might have a slightly bigger squad in terms of quality, but that Liverpool team doesn't change much. We are crying out for a settled team, not this rotation gonads. We don't have many matches left to play this season after Norwich.

Seems like every other week for the last year I've been on here, moaning about starting 5 centre backs.

Either 5 centre backs across the back, or 4 defenders plus Dier in midfield.

Over and over we do it, and surprise surprise we look clunky... unbelievable.

This is another poor result. We have lost more valuable points in our top 4 race. Our poor away record have come back to affect us again. We started poorly and duly went behind but did well to improve and got the equaliser in the second half. But it was not good enough to get us the win. We actually dominated the match in the second half but lacked the cutting edge to win the match.

Credit to Alli for scoring our only goal and Lamela for winning the penalty. But our attacked looked poor apart from that. We made it difficult for ourselves by always trying to dribble into goal instead of shooting.Alli had a few other chances to score but he was too casual and wasted them. Moura had another poor match and he has now gone 12 league matches without a goal. Lamela didn't have much impact in the match but did well to win the penalty despite having minimal contact. Lo Celso played well but again lacked the finishing touches to make the difference to us. Bergwijn had a quiet game and was missing for most of the match.

Our midfield were again poor. Ndombele and Skipp got outplayed in the first half and was rightly replaced in the second half. Mourinho was right to be angry with Ndombele as he has failed to prove his worth since joining us. Not sure if Ndombele will ever succeed it at Spurs. We again missed the work rate of Sissoko in midfield.

Our defence conceded another poor goal. Dier has to take the large part of the blame as it was his poor header which set them up to shoot at goal. And we were too slow to stop the shot from which they scored. Lloris too should have done better with the goal. This match shows our defence have become too slow and error-prone this season.

We are now winless in 5 matches in all competitions. Since Kane and Son got injured, we seem to forget how to score goals and win matches. Mourinho has to take some blame for not signing a reliable striker in the transfer window. Mourinho better do something to improve our performance when we play Leipzip in the CL second leg next.

I think that's a really interesting point actually. Yes Liverpool have had less injuries than us, but that doesn't mean they've rotated more to keep players fresh. Across the PL and CL, they've had lots of players playing a large proportion of Liverpool's matches (see top 8 from each team below), whilst still appearing fresh - why is it that we can't do the same? Maybe they've been able to play those players less in the FA and League Cups? Maybe their training and recovery is more effective? Maybe success on the pitch gives players a psychological and physical boost? Or maybe their matches are less tiring, because they have more possession and are better at game management?

100% success on the pitch makes players play through things... they don’t want to lose their place
And the latter part is right too around game management. They aim to score early and break teams early in games

Disappointment apart...

Not a bad result in isolation. We're desperate for a win now and the gap opening up again is very frustrating. Burnley away is always going to be difficult, and the way we played in the second half was absolutely encouraging.

Mourinho had to gamble I think. Rest some players, bring on quality in the second half, try to scrape a win from a very difficult situation. Almost paid off too... Again undone by an individual error at the back, again not quite clinical enough. There are real positives there, just seems tough right now to see them as good enough to rescue this dumpster fire of a season.

Would help if emery didn’t lose a first team player every game
I mean Bergwein had his ankle done on the 90th minute... how unlucky is that
And of course it’s Jose and the physios fault
