There needs to be some perspective here. Guardiola is an exceptional manager/coach with millions of pounds at his disposal. It's not a surprise he is going to produce a world class team. Rubbish. Silva was on the bench - he's been their best player this season. They have no left-back - Delph has been filling in. Kompany is out, Stones is out - they are playing Mangala again because their key centre-backs are gone.

They had many 'key' injuries as we do heading into this. Difference is, Guardiola found a way to utterly nullify them, make them a non-factor.

Poch has been utterly unable to do the same. Every injury we have had has crippled us, and Poch has been unable to account for it at all this season. Helplessly watching is about the best he's been able to do as we stumble around brainlessly in Toby's absence.

And, in some cases, like today - it wasn't even injuries that did us in. Both our right-backs were fit - Poch started the *wrong* one, and then, maddeningly, mystifyingly, refused to acknowledge his error as we went 2, 3 and 4 down almost *entirely* because of that mistake. This was self-inflicted - this was Poch *wanting* to lose rather than acknowledge that he was wrong and make the sub that could have stopped it.

I'd like to make something clear. I don't think anyone is disputing the facts that they are well funded and an excellent team with an excellent coach.

I think what people are f**cked off with today is the effort and performance of our own team. It's not been up to standard, passing, tackling, tracking, movement, general graft.

Seems we are going round in circles on here, people have a pop at the team and others defend by saying City are so good. We get that, but Wham grafted their nuts off and almost got a point.

We were simply so far off of our own game tonight and I think that's what is p!ssing people off. If we had grafted and were losing 2-1 and then conceded a 3rd while chasing the game then I think people would be fairly ok and concede we just couldn't match up to a great side. Unfortunately tonight we were woeful at our own disciplines and did not take part.

Unfortunately it is mostly on Poch and the coaching team. We could have lost 10-0 and that is no exaggeration.

Even allowing for our missing players, we can’t beat a high press. Lloris and the defenders aren’t cute enough. We were far too open all game. At ht we should have brought on Llorente for Dele and played like we did against Real Madrid away.

Poch is sooooo tactically naive.

I think that’s fair enough and I thought the same before the game (i.e. we should have set up as we did in Madrid) especially with Dier and Verts at CB. However, we still would have been beaten. City are too good going forward.

Their weak point is at the back. However, if you try to exploit that, you leave yourself open for a right hiding.

Not really. A 4-1 loss is quite different, both psychologically and in terms of goal difference, which looking at the table, may ultimately prove decisive when it comes to 4th place this season.

So then, I'm not sure why you are upset with what some are saying. We are off form. We are not doing a good job.

Very simple question, did you think we'd be losing by 3 goals today and be completely outclassed? Did you think we'd concede a goal from an unmarked gundogan at a corner for the first goal? Do you think we should have waited till the 75th minute to make a sub?

I agree that Pep is working to different parameters to everyone else, so I'm not that bothered that they've beaten us with us missing Toby and Big Vic - realistically I'm sure we all expected to lose - but some of the goals were badly self inflicted today, it's disappointing to make it easy for them. If they play great stuff and beat us, fair enough, but they didn't really have to.

I wouldn’t in a million years have started Aurier today. He’s a liability under that sort of pressure. That said, Trippier was terrible.

Pep can cope with injuries better because he has a stronger squad. Liam Brady was saying during the week that Pep is doing great but he’s one of the few managers that can just blow a fortune on a player (he was talking about Bravo specifically) and just write it off and spend more on the replacement.

Until people realise we are a 5th/6th placed team who over achieved for a couple of season the better. We cannot compete with these lottery winning sides financially and they have the money and power to take our best players when they want to. We need to face facts, the way we are set up and run is completely different to these big spenders and we have to deal with the fact they we bring through and make our own superstars and sell them on when they get too big for us. We will always be the feeder team to the Elite teams.

Don't let results against a poor Dortmund and Madrid team trick you into thinking we are something better than we are.
