***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v The Garibaldis (will Marinakis eat his own club with a cuppa?), Sat Sept 5th, City Ground, 3pm***

It becoming increasingly evident that we have gone all in on an idealistic idea and not thought about certain areas.

Its all well and good binning everyone off and claiming they are "17th fodder" or "bad eggs" but you need some of them and its clear that we don't have the right ingredients based on the new guys alone, even with all fit there is ALOT missing and will be.

The lack of presence up top is clear as day, I think we have likely backed the wrong horses with the back 4 or the formula is not right, both Vans are not great defensively and it nearly killed up today (I get Tonali fcuked it).

Its early days but its clear you don't get the same for your money anymore, I am not expecting the moon but for 75-100m players you want impact ....................... yet to see it

I do think there was some fantastic defending within that performance though. It's easy not to notice when a player shuts down a shot and gets a block in. It's easy to miss how many big headers we won on our 6 yard line today. It's also fair to say that Pawson didn't use his whlste and his cards for the amount of fouls on them. A couple of them were naughty.

I think the attacking part of the team will settle as well. I'm not sure who is fit and who isn't, but it was great to see so many in the 20 man squad.

I’m not sure we can throw all our eggs in those rather unreliable baskets, unfortunately.
Quite so.
But purely for this game, looking at how the players on the pitch performed and interacted, I think either of those two would have raised things to a point where we win.
In, say, a month's time, those starting players should be gelling better and comfortably being the better team

Point is something to build on.

But till Kudus is ready to start , we are playing short up top
--------------------------Kinsky

Porro------- JPVH -------VDV---------- Udogie

----------Fernandes-----------Tonanli

-------------------------------x---------------------

Kudus-------------------------------------------Savio

----------------------------Marmoush

That's the team I ideally want to see next match. Udogie and Robertson are quite interchangable for me. Neither truly convinces if I'm honest. Tonali had a good game imo, but we need more passing quality deep and Fernandes is essential in providing that imo.

The 10 is a conundrum that I don't know if we have a good solution too. Marmoush in the 10nis a possibility but that then involves playing Solanke and id rather not do that if possible.

Baby steps. Would have taken a draw when I saw the line up. If we can start a game with Tonali, Fernandes, Savio, Marmoush and Kudus I think we will see a big difference. Solanke needs to be given games in front of those 5, he would get chances.

I think until the no.10s are back in contention we need to be lining up

Solanke
Savio Marmoush Kudus

Lacks a passer but then so do the other options.

A point away to Forest is a good result no two ways about it, performance was flat (missed first 30 minutes) but we need points on the board so will absolutely take it.

In a months time we win that game. Keep patient lads.
Last season RDZ got us playing better quicker, under more pressure. We don't really look threatening.

Something isn't right. Of the new signings, only Marmoush looks an "upgrade"... Van Hecke was the other but after that lucky escape after him and Tonali messed up the clearance I'm not convinced about him doing the basics.

We spent a lot of money and the basics are lacking. Either that or Xavi really made RDZ team look better.

Tonali and Gallagher should be replaced by Fernandes and Gray/Bergvall. Gallagher is good at running but given our best chances came from long balls it shows Kinsky creates more than Gallagher.

Bentancur was by far the best midfielder - he read the danger better and did his job better than other two midfielders. I know it sounds like I have a bias against Tonali but I just don't see the value he adds if we bought Fernandes too. Neither are the midfield destroyer we need, but I feel Fernandes can be more direct in his play when needed.

Kinsky 8
Porro 8
van Hecke 7
van de Ven 9
Udogie 7
Tonali 6
Bentancur 8
Gallagher 7
Savio 6
Mamroush 7
Tel 5

Robertson 8
Kudus 6
Murdyk 6
Fernandes 6
Solanke 6

Didn't even bother watching the 2nd half. This is looking tinkle poor. 3 games without even a shot on target! Absolutely dreadful!

I thought Bentancur was excellent today, always makes the right choice and we really missed him last season.
The Savio sub was ridiculous for me, we were well on top and he was at the centre of everything, all I want next week is a more or less full quota of players to choose from, please football gods pleeeeaase!!!
Also Andy Reid is a prick.
