*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland, Saturday 7th December KO 17:30***

Fine but why spend all the money on **** loads of midfielders and get rid of Ekotto?

Because we didn't anticipate Rose getting injured for the lengthy period of time. Just like we wouldnt have expected to have Kaboul, Chiriches and Vertonghen injured all at once allowing us to play Capoue at centre half.

Fairly average performance, but not as bad as the first half performance against Fulham. The first 30 minutes were quite dull, but we were decent in the last 15 minutes. Typical that we conceded just as we were taking control of the game, though. We actually managed to build a couple of good attacks in that spell, though, and we even look threatening at set pieces when we manage to get the ball past the first defender. Chadli impressive in the air in the box. Should have done better with his first header, but was unfortunate with the one just before the break.

Capoue look quite comfortable at the back, which is a positive. As does Naughton. GOing forward no one have really stood out from open play. I feel that Dembele has the potential to really dominate this game if goes in for it 100%. He doesn't take full advantage of his abilities for me. The few times he decides to advance with the ball, he is very difficult to stop.

At least our bench will give us options, particularly if we want to shore-up (Sandro) or kill them off (Andros).

Reckon Andros would thrive in this, although I want him on the left - looking at how flat the Sunderland back four look when we attack - it may actually suit him on the right.

I don't think that will cross AVBs mind tbh. Has he once played Andros on the left?

We look disjointed, and very poor. The only thing that changed after the Sunderland goal was motivation: suddenly, we seemed to want to score as opposed to being frightened to score.

Good interplay for the set-piece goal. One instant way to guarantee goals is to get Chadli playing more as an inside forward on the left. We already have Lennon being a pure winger on the right: tell Chadli to come infield at the far post, where his height and power in the air could be used to great effect knocking down those deep crosses from the likes of Walker and Lennon for Defoe or an onrushing Paulinho/Holtby to score from. He stays too far wide, which is not something that suits him: he's not the fastest, and not the best at dribbling, which means the opposition right-backs are finding him easy to deal with on a weekly basis. Get him infield, let him look for headers at the near post more and offer an option in the box for Lennon and Walker to aim at when crossing.

Come on, Andre. Get this team playing like a bloody team. COYS!

Do you not think there is a tactical/preparation reason for this rather than it simply being down to our players not being bothered to try for the win today?

Now scored more goals than West Ham,level with Norwich, one less than Stoke , and just the 27 behind City!!!

There's so so much wrong with our style of play today (well i'll just talk about today) it's unreal.

1) Lewis Holtby - The guy drops super deep to collect the ball, he does the same when the opposition are attacking too which is all well and good BUT when we eventually get the ball Defoe is isolated.

2) Lennon - where is he playing? i get he's on the right side but he definitely not playing as a winger. He's like a couple of yards behind play all the time.

3) Paulinho and Dembele partnership - It doesn't work imo. The do not compliment each other, you can't tell who's the attacking one and who is the sitter, they're slow in possession.

4) Chadli - good worker i guess but he's such a 'meh' player. I guess he provides height and commitment.

In your opinion? I think FACT would have been a better statement. They are the weakest pairing of the 4 CMs we have - the only time they work is if they are joined by Sandro and they aren't side by side. Both need to be more offensive rather than CM.

In summary, we've lost whatever made us special as a team over the past couple of seasons

There will be periods in this second half where they are not slow in possession. I guarantee it.

Flare? Creativity?

Modric, van der Vaart, Bale etc. have all made us special. We have no one close to either of their abilities. We have Eriksen out injured and our only other who could even come close is Lamela who is struggling for consistant game time and adapting to our league.

It's scary to think we have a £30m player on the bench and him coming on isn't as exciting as it should be (imo). So many new players, sooo frustrating and confusing as a fan!

By no stretch of the imagination were we a special team last season. We just had a single player who could steal a win. We were the year before, at least we were until Levy said no in January.

Nope. AVB knows we have the capability to commit ghastly individual mistakes on a weekly basis, yet he sends our team out to be cautious and pessimistic for the entirety of the first half because he fears an end-to-end scramble? Nah. We could conceivably have been 2-0 down by half time but for a well executed set piece and an off-balance shot by Fletcher, which would ruin any plan AVB could come up with to turn the second half around.

Andre is a smart man: I refuse to believe he sets our team out to perform like that because he wants us to grow into the game. We are not solid enough to do that yet: even f*cking goalkeeper supreme Hugo Lloris is f*cking up regularly when in our colours. So the plan has to be domination from the first to the last if we are to have any chance of winning, and I think AVB knows this. I don't think the players do, however.

I have hope that he'll kick them up the backside and we'll get a victory here: that set-piece was vital. But it doesn't excuse the fact that we looked laboured for the first forty-odd minutes.
