***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Saturday August 29th, 5.30pm, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium***

Will be a while before we’re the finished article but you can see what the plan is and what they are training on is being implemented.

It’s been stodgy in attack at times but I’d argue it’s the most cohesively our attack has played as a unit in a long while

Harsh on Gray but move Porro for Gray then Gray for Kudus, stick Marmoush in the 10 and stick Solanke up top for Tonali. Would like Udogie for Robertson aswell.

Hard to judge us going forward when we’re missing Solanke, Sávio, Kudus, Kulusevski, Maddison.

And at least we’ve looked pretty solid at the back.

Overall I thought it was a decent performance in the circumstances.
Not to mention longer term absentees in Xavi and Odobert. A bit strange that I’ve not even heard it mentioned in the analysis on sky, like Porro at RW is normal and the master plan.

I am not trying to be unreasonable BTW, but there has to be a balance between style and getting results, there seems a level of acceptance that its ok to us PL games now to bed in players and style which I 100% get an agree with to an extent.

I don't think this is particularly any better than we have seen, its actually no better than RDZ at the end of last season IMO.

I expect it to improve but I can't call today progress,
Yeah I don't think you're being unreasonable as such, I think we just have different degrees of what we think is acceptable. Probably really borne out of me rating what we had previously much lower than you might have. I thought we godawful the last 2 seasons.

So for me all the changes have just brought us back up to a reasonable standard. So I'm not expecting to a 70 point season (not saying you are ) but I think maybe we can build up to that kind performance level but I do think it will come this season.

We've created actual team chances on goal today. That's better than the end of last season under RDZ already. Now I'm not claiming it's light years better or anything but the pace of the passing, the ideas on the pitch for me all of that is an improvement so far.

Thought we were last season Spurs for first 20 mins, much improved as the half went on though, almost as though the players were getting to know each other more COYS

They don't actually watch all the games or pat attention to the details so they don't pick up on really obvious things like this.
