***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Saturday August 29th, 5.30pm, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium***

Presumably Kulu must be very close to being back based on that? Like on the bench in less than a month?

I think so. RDZ said he wants to name him in the squad. I’m thinking soon as he’s back playing I’ll go to another home league match.

I’m going today, and will do in a month or so again. Can’t wait to see his return to first team action.

Seeing as RDZ really wants to play out into a 10 or a forward, I’d really love to see Kudus get half an hour in the 10.

Maybe with Marmoush left, Savio right and Solanke up top.

I’m not Solanke’s biggest fan but imagine him having 3 players behind who can actually receive a football and move it forward.

And then Tonali and Fernandes behind those 4.

However we line up though, we need to see 100% more effort than last week. And if you’re going to the game, let’s all play a part in that.

Up the Spurs!

The side will be unrecognizable this week compared to last in terms of personnel and performance, i think it will be a comfortable win today…

Starts for Porro, VDV, Udogie (hopefully), Fernandes, Savio and Solanke will make a huge difference to the team, then Marmoush from the bench..

I can see us conceding a sloppy goal or two as usual then coming back strongly in the second half to win. Changed my seat this season to get a better view of when we are attacking the Paxton. Now block 254, row 23. COYS....

Overrated imo although preferable.
Didn't stop Mabbutt and Gough being a top partnership.

King and Dawson

My view (as a right-footed LCB) is the idea has become overstated due to computer games' classifications. I've always played on my inverted side, simply because you can defend as well (tackle/block) off either leg, but offensively your passing angles are better coming from the inverted side (due to the natural hook of kicking)

I think you mean King+1

Love the confidence. Personally not expecting a win on this one, as while more are back we going to have a few bad performances while they learn the tactics and each other. Thinking 2-1 heart says spurs, head says we not ready yet

I believe Newcash sat deep and then broke at great pace.
Thus we might feel we are doing well and pinning them back, only to be surprised when they spring forward and take the lead against the run of play/xG.

Or they might just smash us up at set pieces.

COYS, how I would love for Savio/Marmite/Kudus to unlock some hitherto unseen brand of "passing football" which results in a win.

It all depends on our cb’s, if it’s the two Belgian lads we’ll lose by 5/6.

If we play proper defenders I think it will be close.

This is why I think Danso and VDV is still our best pairing. VDV reduces the threat from balls over the top and Danso adds strength in the air.

So far VH seems like a luxury who’s picked for his passing. Don’t think that works in modern day PL as every defender needs to be strong.
