Like a lot of people, I'm gutted. Last season our attack was a disaster, but during this transfer window—we "strengthened" our defense?
What a joke.Personally, I would have preferred to keep Vušković and that other asshole, Romero.We sell Spence and keep Udogie—honestly, it makes no sense.There were great attacking players on the market who could have helped us—Vlahović, etc. We got Marmoush and Savio recently; we'll see how that turns out.As for the keeper, Kinski is weak. Vicario was rubbish at times, sure, but this guy is just too fragile.Maignan was up for sale, as was Martínez; even if Martínez is an idiot, he’s not a bad player.Anyway, we’re dreaming of Kulu and Kudus coming back, but let's be realistic: they won't be fully match-fit for another 7 or 8 months.Yesterday we saw RDZ's stupidity: he plays Porro as a winger and Gray as a full-back. That alone shows he's a total fraud.Because let's face it, the guy achieved nothing at Brighton—finishing 7th doesn't count when we, United, and Chelsea were all in shambles.Damn it, I'm telling you: modern football is about having full-backs who are good going forward *and* defending.And ours are absolutely useless defensively. Porro is good at crossing but struggles at the back—though I guess yesterday he was playing winger, lol, triple lol.Why doesn't RDZ play like Maresca and use four center-backs? It would make the defense a bit more secure.Because those two Dutch guys are a worry; I don't trust them. And you'll see, that Dutch clique—including Simons—is going to cause chaos this season.Anyway, Moore should have been on the wing and Porro at right-back; it's the logical move. Even though we aren't coaches, we all know that. He's useless—he wastes four seconds cutting back onto his stronger foot to cross; whenever he actually gets the chance, we lose too much time. That's true - it was the end of the Bill Nick era. In fact, we lost the first three games in 74-75 without scoring (all 1-0 reverses). Nicholson went after losing 4-0 to Middlesbrough in the League Cup, on top of losing five out of six in the league. We finished the season 19th out of 22, just one point off the relegation places.

We would have been better off spending the summer on the training ground, but it's always a difficult balancing act between the sporting and commercial aspects. We made a lot of changes and De Zerbi said himself he'd go for a more sophisticated approach this season. Given all that, the slow start is hardly a surprise. If the squad had a couple of months to work in isolation, I'd be confident of a decent finish in the league. Unfortunately, we don't have that luxury and there will be a lot of noise/banter around Spurs because of the money we spent and the recent league finishes.
If the players can ignore it, we'll be fine; if some of them check out, it's another matter altogether.
From what I saw, it's clear that the players are still getting to know one another and they're still working on their relationship on the pitch. Also, it's a shame Tel had a stinker, but that happens with young players, unfortunately. I was encouraged by Marmoush's performance though. He may be lacking in physicality, but his movement off the ball and his first touch looked good.
Ironically, I'm more concerned with the backline. Robertson was at fault for the goal and VDV and Van Hecke don't strike me as a very good partnership. I'd be curious to see VDV at left back with Van Hecke and Danso at centre back but I'm in the minority, obviously. I missed the first game, so I can't judge Senesi and Van Hecke as a pair but on paper, it looked promising though.
