OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v Rangers ** Thursday 12 December 2024.

Yeah, you're right. Let's do on there thinking we will be lucky to get a draw!

FFS, some of our fanbase
Take a look at the available squad. 'Some of our fanbase' yes indeed, 'some of our fanbase' will be absolutely spluttering 'sack 'im' if we don't thrash Rangers 6-1 with a reserve side. Macrons.

It’s the way we train and the way we play. Second season in a row. It’s neither bad luck nor coincidence.

We got a new fitness coach on Aug 1st, Matt Bickley. At Stoke previously. I remain unsure as to whether fitness and conditioning work is actually, err, working. The club have a responsibility to find the right staff for Ange & co. This style of football might well require specific and bespoke fitness programs. You would hope that is all common knowledge to professsionals. Indeed, maybe it is and I am talking gonads. BUT I'm finding it pretty hard to believe that given the run we're in...

My side:

Forster

Porro
Dragusin
Gray
Udogie

Bentancur
Maddison
Bergvall

Son
Lankshear
Kulusevski

subs: Austin, Johnson, Werner, Sarr, Udogie, Williams-Barnett, Hall, Solanke, Black

We are going to HAVE to rest players right now to avoid further injuries. Speed is going to more important in the Prem and the Man U Q/F. So I'd cotton wool Werner and Johnson until midway second-half. I wish we could rest Destiny too, let alone Porro. Poor squad management left Spence out of this squad and us without a back-up left-sided defender. We also cannot afford to lose Solanke right now, so resting is important. We have more shots at top 8 if we lose this.

That's the problem when you don't work with a dedicated team of coaches. I believe having people you trust and that are on the same page is very important for a manager. Someone mentioned in another thread that these big injury lists have been following Postecoglou throughout his career. If that is the case and nobody is able to fix that, it's going to be a problem at some point (assuming it isn't already).

No Bissouma?
He is out Vs Southampton so we may as well use him and Bentancur today

Next 3 matter

- Progress in cups, get another 3 points on board (likely keep us in top half of table), buys some time/faith

fudge these up, and you have Pool and Forest away to follow, would get ugly pretty quick

I agree...doesn't bear thinking about if we continue our slide into boxing day...

+1 for Lankshear to start
He's physical, will be up for it and won't get bullied.
Just give him firm instructions not to do anything daft to get sent off.

If we play Son up front in this is crazy. We need to give Lankshear some starts, he might even score a couple and prove his worth to the squad.

Double Udogie, I like it 😉

Hopefully this new fitness coach has the Midas touch and the injuries shall start to clear up, like they supposedly did for Postecoglou during his 2nd season at Celtic or Klopp at Liverpool.

Although a large part of that might’ve simply been being able to assemble a squad with enough marathon runners the gaffer rates that he can keep switching his starting XI to keep players out of that red zone where their hamstrings are at risk of giving up.

Something which fellow Murderball lover Bielsa was unable to achieve at Leeds.

We have many injuries, I don't believe the players have any faith in our macaronic manager, so at best I think we may get a draw. If I had to have a bet it would be 3-1 Rangers, but I hope I am wrong

Just resigned at work and on my way to a pub in London for some Christmas beers with some ex colleagues who are also spurs fans
What’s more to want ….
Another job lined up? Or retirement?

Either way good luck and enjoy. It’s a good feeling throwing off the shackles.
