*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Olympique de Marseille ***

Looks so leggy, I mean he has never been ultra athletic but Father time looks like its creeping in
Worst thing for me is that it seems like he's trying to overcompensate by being "hero". I loved Defoe, but there was a period where it almost looked like he'd rather play 0-0 taking all the shots than winning 1-0 not scoring. Exaggerated of course but still. This is what Kane reminds me of right now.

I know both he and Son has plenty of so called credit in the bank, but now we have options. Let's try them out if nothing changes soon. Can't say I look forward to this weekend, but then again you know what they say: "Lads, it's City".

I expect a big game from Harry on Saturday, he has a point to make to pep.

You're absolutely right and he did well in that passage of play. It did change the game. But it's not enough to keep the others out the team for me at this point.

I've defended Son to the death but I think we're now at the point he has to be benched. I'm sorry to see it, he's my favourite player, but I can no longer make the case for him.

Rest of your post is spot on.

Both Son and Kane look tired from last season still. The input last year, playing almost every game, I think they are possibly still fatigued from it. Both lack a bit of zip currently. So I agree. All for rotating them, and they should both come back stronger.

First off, Marseille looks like our toughest group opponent. Home win, job done. An away draw will be acceptable.

But we need to keep winning these games against softies like Sporting. Eintracht might not fairly be called soft but they are mediocre at best and porous at the back.

I think he may need to be given the Ronadlo treatment. No, not calling him a clown shoe, but rather managing his minutes to get the best out of him.

Absolutely, it's not like any of them still won't get more than enough games anyway, unless we are dumped out on our arses early in the cups. Kane for example has shown that he is not above playing 90 minutes against league 2 sides to boost his tally.

60 mill for 21 year old Haaland banging in goals for fun being an absolute unit vs 120 mill for 30+ year old Kane - yeah, I don't think Pep has any regrets. :p
Surely it’s not vs Haaland but vs The money spunked on Grealish?

Had they not spent 100m on Grealish who has paid literally nothing back, they could have bought Kane for slightly more and most likely won everything!

edit: I mean to say, had Pep bought Kane for 120m instead of Grealish for 100m then it is in my opinion they would have won any competition they entered! So for 20m they sacrificed 2 trophies, one of them being the champs League, the one he wants most.

The good thing is we are still undefeated and we still don`t seem to have "clicked" yet. And imho all the subs were sensible given the amount of games we have coming up. The other sickening thing about Haaland is he wont be at the world cup so will have a nice rest for a few weeks while Harry etc play every minute and risk getting injured

We could well be dumped out on our arses if we don't play the form players.

It will be interesting to see who Conte plays in the FA cup and League Cup or whatever its called this season

Great result, dogbrick performance. Absolutely awful although we never really looked like conceding either. Our big players at both ends of the pitch were abysmal. Son looked like he did up at Boro last year. Couldn't control the ball.

Kulu made a difference. Really good. On Saturday, Richarlison has to play, Kulu should play and Kane will play. That leaves Son on the bench which is a shame as he has such a great record against them. But we're at the point now that it's almost impossible to make a case for him.

Also Tanganga and Davies for Romero and Lenglet seemed the most bizarre sub of all time. Was scratching my head even if both did well.

Disappointed with how we played but it's a win and we're not Liverpool.
I'm surprised that the 5-subs rule hasn't led to earlier substitutions -- a little more invention than the usual "let's give 'em 60 minutes".

I'd like to see Son on the pitch at the start against Emirates Marketing Project, given how much history he has of early goals against them. But then Conte (and the team) should be prepared to sub him on, say, 40 minutes if he's being ineffective again.
