***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR v nottingham forest***

Another goal down to not playing with two number 8's, and no 6 unfortunately. There is never a shield.
But the shield could come from the Fb's tucking in to make a 3 in front of the Cb's. That's how most teams do it now.

Then you still have your 5 attacking players but some cover.

This, so far, feels a bit similar to Palace. They’re dealing with us with ease so far and we look a bit devoid of ideas and energy.

somehow, they have players over at the back, and players over going forward

its like we haven't got a fudging clue what we are doing

Bored of watching Spurs. I don't even care if we come back from one nil down, to goals which could easily be avoided is very boring.

Sideways and backwards football, where is this attacking football we are supposed to be playing?

Ange is clueless, and face facts, we are going to be in a relegation fight if we aren't already.

For me there is absolutely no need to have that attacking shape/numbers. We're defending man for man every single time we lose the ball. And then people will say the players make mistakes but that's the reason you defend with more defenders than attackers to begin with.
I worry about those who say it's defender individual mistakes when it happens so frequently it's not on the player. It's the systems it's really, really obvious.

If you ask defenders to run back to their own goal constantly and ask them to consistently make last minute challenges, there will be times they misjudge, mistime or just get it wrong. The point of a defensive system is to mitigate for errors whereas ours just hangs the defenders out to dry.

good job wood is dogbrick, look how much space he was in there, and how much grass he had to run into

what are we playing at back there?

Nah, our FBs are ahead of the ball making interior runs into the opposition box. We play overload attacking football, it relies on numbers in spaces as opposed to direct cutting edge. The downside is it means we often have too many numbers ahead of the ball.

I would argue that it's proved to not be an effective tactic

isolated with no real back up, system does not allow for any mistakes

Its also just another long ball behind the high line, predictable, forest are aiming for the full backs and the space behind, its so easy to play against.

Just f... off back to coys or wherever you came from!
You may have noticed we are already 1-0 down, and likely to to go 2-0 down shortly. Being a good fan doesn't mean you have to positive all the time, it's about watching the games with open eyes. Forest are a well oiled team, we are like a bunch of kids on Hackney Marshes
